my experience gives me a deep insight into how to turn the everyday vacation rental processes into services that delight the customer so that they become a customer for life. I help vacation rental owners to reduce expenses, increase satisfaction, and create growth strategies that allow them to build up exponential growth in the long term.
Too many new hosts become completely dependent on the OTA's like airbnb & vrbo for their marketing efforts and end up losing control over how to manage their property most effectively for their given situation.
Many new hosts to the houfy platform are dismayed to find that they are not getting any inquiries from the houfy channel and blame it on the fact that houfy does not do their own marketing.
But what this really means is that vacation planners are not using houfy to look for properties in that area.
In the world of booking direct, it's about making sure the vacation planners are able to find the direct book channel when it's time to plan the family vacation and I've come access a number of strategies that will target the person in a family who has the task of planning the family vacation and make sure they are aware they can find homes for rent on houfy.
They do not know that there are vacation rentals listed on houfy. They are not making the connection to use houfy when it comes time to plan their vacation.
Now that I have found houfy and have the ability to create a direct book channel, I've realized I don't need my own website to do all of the processing tasks that make my job as a vacation rental host quite tedious. This means I can spend more time focusing on the vitally important parts of getting my vacation rental business up to top satisfaction for my guests
I'm in unique position with my vacation rental property and am catering toward a very specific market of people. As a single property owner, I'm not able to spend thousands of dollars in marketing my property but as an investor in vacation rentals, I want to make the best use of my money and time by building brand awareness toward toward my long term goals.
I want to help those who list on houfy really make the most of their marketing efforts, decrease time spent on tedious and non value added tasks while improving overall guest satisfaction that earns a 5 star review...everytime.
My marketing efforts to specific guest demographic groups will draw vacation planners who are looking for a single family residence vacation rentals. I work one on one with property owners to clearly define their ideal guest demographic and create a personalized plan on how to market and execute their long term business strategies and maximize their property potential.
I don't proclaim to be the most creative marketer and am sure there are many others out there that could make an ad campaign that has better results. I'm open to recommendations on changes to ad copy, picture content, etc. I'm pilot testing a few different campaigns over the next few months and am hoping to see more bookings across the houfy platform as things get into full swing.
We all benefit more if we can pool our talents and marketing dollars to get houfy to rise to the top when vacation planners are looking to book. Property owners looking to contribute to the marketing fund can sign up for access to the Hospitality Hub forum space where they can find a number of helpful tools that make hosting their property a breeze.
My main strategy is taking advantage of free postings across instagram, facebook, and pinterest while also doing a series of low budget paid ads with the objective to get the houfy brand name resonating with family vacation planners who have recently looked at airbnb or vrbo properties.
It works like this
Create a facebook page for the property. Set up the 'book now' button to link to the houfy listing.
Create a pinterest board for the vacation rental property. Save pins to the board that relate to things that are within a 100 mile radius of the property. This includes tourist attractions, entertainment centers, stadiums, recreation centers, parks, restaurants, nearby stores, etc. The intent is for the board to be a 'guidebook' for guests to reference when planning a trip to a specific location. (1 time task)
On the facebook page, pin a post to the top of the page that links to the pinterest board. (1 time task)
Set up an instagram account for the property. Set up instagram to autofeed photos to the facebook page (1 time task)
Weekly take a picture from the property, surrounding attractions or other vacation like topics and save it to instagram.
Weekly create a 'pin' from the picture and put it on the pinterest board. Add a link to the pin that points to the property listing on houfy.
Weekly 'share' the posts from the facebook page to groups that allow vacation rental posts. "Boosting" the post is helpful for getting more eyes on the facebook page.
Collect vacation planner email address and send a link to the property pinterest board. Changing the Pinterest account to "Business Hub" allows for the ability to create ads that target the ideal guest for the property.
