About A Sound Round:

Welcome to A Sound Round, our beautifully furnished vacation rental in Nags Head. Designed to accommodate up to 8 guests (with an optional Queen pull-out sofa bed in the lounge), we have provided everything you could possibly need to enjoy your time in the OBX and discover all that it has to offer. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, guests have access to the private beach club, which has FREE parking, a private beach area with lifeguards, a community pool, bathrooms, and changing facilities—great if you have children! There is also a full program of activities for all the family, tennis, bars, and restaurants, all within a 12-15 min walk through our safe resident-only neighborhood!

Golf is year-round, and with flexible booking options available, A Sound Round is your go-to for a short escape or a week-long family vacation.

Planning a fishing trip? Our residence is just a stone's throw away from Pirate's Cove Marina at 4.9 miles and Oregon Inlet Fishing Center at 12 miles. What about a girls' shopping trip? We are less than 2 miles from the Nags Head Outlet Mall, with Manteo Downtown less than a 10 min drive away. There are plenty of local artisan and vintage shops too! Plus, some of the best restaurants OBX has to offer. If you do need to catch up with some work, then you can enjoy the FREE high-speed wireless internet while taking in the breathtaking views from your new office location.

A linen and towel package is included with the cleaning fee. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beach towels. A full-size washer and dryer, with detergent and softener, are provided for your convenience.

The Layout:

A Sound Round is a reverse floorplan property, with all the bedrooms, laundry, and bathrooms located at the entry level.

Bedrooms:

2 large king-bed suites with plush bedding, soft towels & sparkling clean attached bathrooms, and complimentary toiletries, and hairdryers.
1 queen bedroom with an attached ensuite bathroom, which can also be accessed via the hallway.
Twin room is dual-aspect, making it a bright and cheerful room.
There is an additional half bathroom on this floor with a full-sized laundry, complimentary detergent, and softener.
All our bedrooms have NEW SMART TVs.
The 2 king suites open onto the lighted back deck area where you can relax on the loungers, hammock, or cushioned seating while enjoying some social time or a good book in the shade. There is also an outdoor fan, to cool off on the balmier occasions.

Kitchen:

If you enjoy cooking, our kitchen is for you. You'll find plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and gadgets to prepare all of your favorite meals. Bar stools along the additional eating area create the perfect atmosphere for socializing while your food is cooking. Keurig coffee maker & regular coffee pot available. The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator/freezer, oven with stove top, microwave, and dishwasher.

Dining:

A large table for 8, enjoy a social mealtime while taking in the views over the water.

Lounge:

An open and spacious living area features a NEW 50" Smart TV, tasteful decorations, and tons of natural light! The views from the 180 degrees of windows across the Roanoke Sound are a sight to behold. There are plenty of board games, puzzles, cards, or DVDs available, or listen to your favorite tunes on the surround sound system. Our TV system logs you out automatically when you leave, so you never have to worry about leaving your streaming accounts open.

Also on this floor, you will find an additional half bathroom, a large larder, and a dedicated workspace.

The lighted deck is one of our favorite features and will become yours too! A large picnic table with umbrella, loungers, and Adirondack chairs are provided, so sit back with a drink in hand and enjoy the views, breeze off the water on those hot days, and a long cool drink while you watch the stunning sunsets and admire the colors bouncing off the water. If you are booking for July 4th or New Year then watch the fireworks from front-row seating as Festival Park, where the biggest firework shows are, is directly across from us!

We provide free high-speed internet and smart thermostats throughout the property. We do have a camera on the front door, ring device, and front porch which face the driveway away from the house only.

Additionals:

The ground level offers guests a fun game area with new wicker seating, hammocks, and lots of space to spread out. There are LED string lighting and a large outdoor fan for your comfort. In the guest storage cupboard, you will find a multitude of outdoor games:

We even have a kite which you are welcome to take to nearby Jockey’s Ridge State Park, a popular spot with visitors for dune kite flying, biking, and a public sound-side beach.

An outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a new gas grill with propane is situated outside under the rear deck.

The LED string lighting on all decks operates on an 8-hour timer, turning on automatically and off after 8 hours. Pathway lights have been added to the steps at the front and rear of the property since there is limited street lighting.

We have parking for 4 cars in the driveway; parking on grass or the street is strictly prohibited. Overflow parking for multiple vehicles, boats, trailers, etc., is available, so please be sure to message us for more information!

We kindly request our guests to honor and follow all house rules. We are dedicated to offering exceptional hospitality and ensuring a memorable experience for our esteemed guests. Guest access:

Guests will have access to the entire house, community pool (seasonal), private beach access w/ free parking, tennis courts, and 2 private sound-side fishing piers. Nags Head Links Golf Course is open to the public for your tee time!

In order to access the seasonal beach club, I will need to register your party PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL so your guest passes are ready when you go to the club. Please let me know you wish to use the beach club in good time, so that I can make the necessary arrangements.

Ground floor owner's storage, attic & 2 owners' closets are locked and not accessible by guests.

Other things to note:

Our property is right in the heart of Nags Head and offers convenient access to restaurants and shopping. Consider ordering your groceries ahead with Insta-Cart for added convenience. Grocery delivery services are available!

A linen and towel package is included in the cleaning fee. An initial supply of household basics is provided, including 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 trash bag in each bin, dish detergent/dishwasher tablets, teabags, Keurig coffee pods, milk jiggers, and sugar/sweeteners. The welcome pack is on the bar-top in the kitchen and guests are responsible for any additional supplies needed during their stay.

A welcome folder is on the table in the main living area, where you will find lots of helpful information about the area. Please feel free to add any favorite discoveries for other guests to enjoy, by placing leaflets or information in the back of the folder.
