The best ocean view on the Outer Banks.

Response:We are always sad when a tenants expectations are unrealistic for the area. I am also saddened as I talked to this guest twice after they called at almost midnight lost trying to find the home and they made no mention of any of this. The tenant was not familiar with the OBX or the beaches or accommodations in the area. Our house while having million dollar views is not a multi million dollar house that you would find in the Hamptons. As many of our positive reviews and even this tenant have pointed out we are more of a breathtaking view with an old Nags Head style house. We have made updates and continue to make upgrades inside as we can such as king beds, new sliding glass doors on the front of the house, a new roof, new stainless steel kitchen appliances and counter tops. While many families, as evidenced by our other reviews, loved the accommodations, this tenants expectations of a pristine multi million dollar house fell short. There are many multi million dollar pristine homes in the OBX unfortunately they are usually 10 bedrooms minimum, quadruple the cost, and not as close to the beach. The pictures in our listing are an accurate reflection of what you will get when you arrive at the house. This is a very comfortable family friendly beach home with amazing views and location.

My husband and I both grew up vacationing every year in the Outer Banks.
My family was the beach bum type. My mom has always been a lover of the beach so we spent every vacation on the beach as much as possible. From building sand castles, swimming, floating, boogie boarding, and having a nap on the beach...we knew how to relax! To this day my favorite thing to do is pack a picnic and eat lunch by the ocean. Seafood was always on the menu while at the beach so my dad would catch fish for us or go get us steamed crabs and shrimp!
My husbands family was more about the experience. They enjoyed visiting the aquarium, finding the best local restaurants, and playing putt putt. They knew how to find an adventure!
The two of us together are a pretty good mix of the two. We enjoy going and finding adventures but also love a good nap by the ocean.

Super location - this is really oceanfront!
If you want to feel close to the ocean and have super easy access to the beach - look no further. This cottage is right on the beach in lovely South Nags Head. Although we were there off season, I bet the beach is not overly crowded even in the summer, as the neighborhood is small and private. Lovely location for long beach walks down into the National Seashore... yet you are still close enough to town for restaurants, shopping, etc. House was not fancy but was comfortable and had everything we needed. The open floor plan upstairs worked well. We picked the oceanfront lower level king bedroom and could listen to the ocean all night right out of the sliding door. The bed was firm and comfortable. Location (as in close to the beach) is super important to me when selecting a beach house. If that's your top priority, you will definitely enjoy the Sea Urchin Inn! The owner was super responsive and communication was smooth throughout all arrangements and our stay.

A little challenging with two sets of stairs for a disabled person. The views were amazing.

We loved it!
We have stayed in Nags Head many times over the years. This is our favorite location yet. We fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves, and woke up every morning to dolphins swimming right in front of us. Elizabeth was very helpful. We will definitely be back!

The best ocean view on the Outer Banks.
Views were breathaaking. Inside accommodations were ancient, very dirty and very disappointing. Even super inexpensive plastic deck furniture was broken, and inadequate/Very unsatisfactory. Won't stay here again.

Lovely views, amazing location
Beautiful home, we would see dolphins in the morning swimming by. One evening we saw a whale. All while sitting on the deck of the house.

Our kids absolutely loved it. The best vacation ever!
I told them we were planning to come back. They were so excited and asked if we could stay at the same house as last year. I told them I would see if it was available. They lived outside and didn't want to come in. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
