Unwind with family or friends at your own private mountain retreat! This newly built hide-away has everything youll need for the perfect break- 4 king bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms; huge open kitchen & dining room for group meals; hot tub; as many indoor & outdoor games as you could possibly need; & a large yoga studio- all nestled on a private 3 acre wooded estate. Close to historic Harpers Ferry & hip and happening Shepherdstown; and next to world-class hiking, biking, wineries and more.
You’ll be greeted by a 15 foot island and super modern kitchen when you enter. Mountain Haven has 4 bedrooms with king beds and each with their own bathroom. There are two additional single mattresses for kids or extra guests. There is a hot tub and a finished shed that is perfect for yoga.

Outside:

We have room for fires outside- you agree to release the owner of the property from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the fire, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence. If you have small children with you, please make sure they understand how to stay safe around the fire.

Getting around

We have plenty of parking at the house. Guests will require a car. Harper's Ferry (15 minutes) has stores with everything you need as does Shepherdstown (20 minutes). Brunswick (15 minutes) is the best stop on the way from DC on the East for groceries. There are also Amtrak and MARC stations in Brunswick and Harper's Ferry. Consult our House Guide for tons more tips and recommendations for restaurants, bars, activities and more! During the winter, a four wheel drive/AWD is recommended in case of snow storms. Please use good judgment about driving conditions and starting your journey early so you can arrive on time. We do snowplow the snow when it snows heavily as soon as possible.

House Rules

1. The house is on septic so please don’t flush anything except toilet paper down the drains - no tampons, condoms, medications, dental floss, etc. No grease or oil down the kitchen sinks please. 2. Don’t eat or drink anything in the hot tub because broken glass, fallen food/drink, etc will require specialized cleaning that we will have to charge you for. 3. The woods come with wildlife! Do not let children or pets roam outside unattended. 4. For dogs- Avoid the nice grass near the entrances when they pee. Supervise dogs on the leather couches to keep them from scratching/digging.No smokingNo parties or eventsCheck-in is anytime after 3:00 PM

Damage Deposit Policy

As a security deposit alternative, houfyProtect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

We apply the policy that is set on Airbnb at the time of your booking. Please feel free to confirm the policy with us.

Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking, if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in
To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
If you cancel between 7 and 30 days before check-in, you'll pay 50% for all nights
If you cancel less than 7 days before check-in, you'll pay 100% for all nights

Notes

We recommend downloading shows and content before you come because our area does not have 5G/high speed internet (Maryland is still working on getting the infrastructure across state - we’re hopeful we’ll get it in 2024) and cell phone service is patchy. We have a T-Mobile box that works well for streaming most of the time; other times accessing websites can be a challenge. Please bear this in mind if you are expecting to participate in video calls from the property. We allow dogs- and have a $30 pet fee per dog. We have almost never rejected a dog but a few questions help ensure that our place stays clean and smelling fresh. If you'd like to bring a dog, please tell us: (1) if they are 100% and reliably house trained (2) the dog's age (3) your dog's size/weight We would really appreciate it if you could bathe your dog before visiting.
