As you step into this lovely home, you will want to pause and take it all in: The high vaulted ceiling of the great room, the floor-to-ceiling windows of the whole west side of this home where expansive views of Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean spread before you, the nearby manicured 10th green of the Links of Bodega Harbour Golf Course. Step out onto the massive tri-level deck, the largest to be found in the area. As you pause, you will feel that slow sigh that comes from knowing this is going to be a wonderful time of escape and relaxation.
The same views are there to be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining room, and main suite with its king-size bed, immaculate ensuite with shower, and a silent sliding door leading to the expansive deck which spans the entire length of the home. Come, sit down, and enjoy the amazing sunset, the wildlife skittering or strolling by, and the many birds that come to feed. This is the place you’ve been looking for, the one you will call “our place” in Bodega.
The Birdie House is tastefully decorated with comfortable, contemporary furnishings, accessories, and amenities. Everything is immaculate and tended to for your enjoyment. Notice the small but meaningful touches throughout this home away from home. Enjoy the brand new gas/electric fireplace, really quite beautiful.
There are two more bedrooms with queen-sized beds that share another spacious bathroom with a tub/shower. Downstairs is a quiet retreat area, complete with a kitchenette, wine fridge, television, futon mattress and electric fireplace. An adjacent half bath is there for guest convenience.
The dining room can seat up to 10 with more seating at the kitchen bar. The amazing kitchen is complete with granite countertops and stainless appliances, including a 5-burner gas range that will make cooking (if you choose) a real pleasure. Nothing you need has been overlooked. And the cook wont miss a thing as they will be facing all the main spaces, including that fabulous ocean and golf course view.
As to entertainment, there are several Smart televisions throughout the house with Cable TV, a DVD Player, a selection of games and books, and even a baby grand piano! A spacious office alcove has a large desk with an available monitor and printer if you need to catch up on any work.
But should you wish to explore, a short walk will take you to the Bodega Harbour Clubhouse where nearby you can shoot a few hoops on the basketball court, roll some bocce balls, or beat your companions on the pickleball court. When you’ve worked up an appetite, Links has a snack shack and Starbucks coffee. Later, the Bluewater Bistro Lounge provides a relaxing, casual atmosphere with a full bar and live music on Thursday nights. Or if you just want some quiet time to reset your mind and soul, the beach is amazingly close. What more could you ask for?

We have enjoyed living vicariously through the happy stories and memorable experiences that our guests have shared with us. We are now helping other homeowners in Bodega Harbour share their houses and warm hospitality. It is important to us that every guest enjoys their visit to Bodega Bay with all the creature comforts of a clean, well-stocked home.

Getting around
We feel the most direct and scenic route to Bodega Bay from either the Bay Area or Sacramento is via Hwy 101 to East Washington Street in Petaluma (Exit 474).
- FROM THE BAY AREA -
Get to Golden Gate Bridge / US-101 Northbound about 40 miles to exit 474 toward E Washington Street and turn left (West).
- FROM THE SACRAMENTO AREA -
I-80 West to Vallejo
Exit 33B to take CA-37 West for 15.4 miles
Right on Lakeville Hwy / 116 for 11.1 miles
Right to merge onto US-101 N for 1 mile
Exit 474: E Washington Street turn left (West)
- FROM EAST WASHINGTON -
Heading westbound, East Washington Street turns into Bodega Ave as it goes through town. Stay on this road for about 26 miles, all the way to the Bodega Harbour community. The road will change names to Valley Ford Rd and then CA-1 North. Once you are through Petaluma, enjoy the scenic drive with rolling green farmlands, happy cows, and frolicking sheep. Cell service on this stretch of road can be unpredictable but usually regains stability as you approach Bodega Bay.
You may consider stopping to shop for groceries and necessities as you drive through Petaluma, as shopping in Bodega Bay is more limited. You will find a Target, Whole Foods, and Safeway store within the first few miles of E Washington.
After 26 miles, turn Left onto Harbour Way into the Bodega Harbour community. Please keep your speed at the posted 25 MPH max, there are usually lots of hikers and dogs, deer, etc. Once you turn into the Bodega Harbour community, here is how to navigate to the house:

Make an immediate Right on Heron Drive for 0.8 miles. Turn left on Condor Court, then an immediate Left on Hummingbird Court. The home will be on your Left in approximately 300 feet.

House Rules
* You must be 25 years of age to rent this home. All Guests must e-sign the Host's Rental Agreement and provide a photo ID for insurance purposes within 24 hours of making a reservation. The Rental Agreement must include a valid residential address and a working personal phone number.
* Maximum of 8 people staying overnight without any additional charges. You can have up to 6 additional visitors during the day (7am-10pm), but no parties, no guests after 10 PM, and no commercial filming.
* Check-in after 4:00 PM. We will provide you with a door lock code a few days in advance.
* Check-out by 11:00 AM. Before you leave, please load and run the dishwasher, close the windows, and lock the sliding glass doors. Please leave the beds unmade, and dirty towels in the tub or shower. Housekeeping will take care of laundering linens and trash disposal.
* Timely checkout is imperative to allow adequate time between guests for thorough housekeeping and to avoid impacting another guest's experience. For this reason, without pre-approval, departing 1 hour after checkout time incurs a $150 fee. After 2 hours, the guest is responsible for the base nightly rate as a penalty, plus any costs or refunds associated with displacing the next guest.
* HOA quiet hours are from 10 PM until 7 AM. Please respect the serenity of the community and bring the festivities indoors during those hours. We love our neighbors. Please be considerate, respectful, and courteous.
* The cleaning fee covers standard cleaning of the home, laundering the bedding and towels, and trash removal. If excessive cleaning is required, or damages occur, there will be an appropriate additional charge. No glitter or confetti!
* This is a smoke-free home. Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING of any kind (including tobacco or marijuana) inside the house or garage, as well as the outside area surrounding the property. If smoke is detected inside the home, you will be charged for excessive cleaning, odor removal, and damage to linens or furnishings, plus any costs or refunds associated with displacing the next guest.
* Pets are not permitted. We follow the ADA definition and requirements for Service Animals, which must be disclosed prior to arrival. There will be a $500 charge for each unapproved animal, plus additional cleaning costs and damages.
* Please keep all food items in the kitchen, dining room, or living room. Please refrain from taking food to other rooms in the house.
* It is dangerous to leave a burning fire unattended. Please do not light a fire on the morning of your departure, as our housekeeping staff cannot clean the fireplace with hot coals. Items near the fireplace may be hot.
* We are out in nature and there are wild animals such as raccoons in the area. All outside trash must be in the shed for the cans, or it will be spread across the property by the crafty raccoons.
* Most of our Guests find the home appealing for its proximity to nature. Since we are in a natural coastal area with lots of wildlife, it is normal to see the occasional bug or insect in the house that may enter through an open door or window. However, we cannot control Mother Nature, and do not refund if you encounter bugs, birds, rodents, or animal evidence during your stay.
* Please make sure babies and children do not climb the stairs without supervision.
* Both indoors and outdoors there are several areas with steps. Please use caution.
* Do not move furniture, or remove items from the house.
* Don’t use bathroom and kitchen towels to clean your makeup, boots, golf clubs, tires, or other items that will stain them.
* There are a few locked cabinets that contain the personal property of the owners for when they use the home. Please leave them alone.
* We cannot be responsible for utility service interruptions that are outside of our control such as power, internet or cell services. Cell service in particular can be inconsistent in coastal areas.
* As is common with many homes and vacation rental properties, we have installed on-site devices for your security. These may include electronic door locks, light timers, security alarms, exterior motion sensors, outdoor facing cameras (which record whenever motion is detected including voices), smoke detection devices, and decibel meters (which do not record voices). For your privacy, we do not have any cameras inside the house, nor any cameras that can see the spa. Cameras are all in plain sight and are located at the front entrance doorbell, inside the garage, front courtyard, and back yard.
