- Learn to Surf there's a couple of business's offering lessons on the beach for adults and kids. Or bring your own Surfboard. There are a couple of business in Surfside that rent/sell boards.
- Relaxing, sunbathing and strolling on the beautiful clean beach. You can drive onto some parts of the beach you just need to pay a $12 annual permit. You can bring food and drinks, and you can even grill on the beach. Just remember your trash bag and no glass. Leave the beach as you found it.
- Stay the night. There are lot of different types of accommodation in Surfside from Motels, Hotels, RV parks, Beach house rentals. There's something for everyone!
- Visit one of our many restaurants in Surfside. They offer fresh seafood, steaks, burgers and lets not forget your favorite cocktails/Beers.
- Fishing, there's fishing off the beach, off of the mile long Jetty or Deep sea fishing or bring your own boat, there several free boat ramps. There's even a crabbing pier on the Bay side of Surfside.
- Horseback Riding on the beach is offered during the non summer months
- Walk the Butterfly and Nature Trail there's garden sponsored by local business with different native plants , plants that are nature and butterfly friendly. You'll also get to enjoy the views of the port and there's even an exercise course for you to enjoy.
- Rent a jet ski, paddle board or kayak. You can either stay inter coastal die of the island or the enjoy the coastline
- Shop! We have few cute little souvenir shops on the island, not far from the island we have the very first Buccees
- Rent a Golf cart - either drive round around the island or on the beach
- Build a beach campfire, roast some marshmallows. Just keep it under 3 ft wide and to put it out after.
- Visit Surfside museum at the city Hall. Fort Velasco is next door this is where the Texas revolution started.
- There are many event held in Surfside throughout the year including the very popular St Patrick's Parade, check out all events at www.Surfsidetx.org
- Wake up early and watch the beautiful sunrise
- Keep any eye out for our local Dolphins which can be seen at the marinas, near the Jetty or swimming up and down the coast.
- Enjoy a cocktail at one of our many bars, a couple have beach views and another has bay views - it's a great place to watch the sun go down.
- Take your kiddos to the Splash pad
- Go Shelling
- Go bird watching there are cranes, Roseate spoonbills and brown pelicans.
- Visit the beach at night with flashlights to hunt for ghost crabs! A favorite activity for the kids.
