Visit multiple fishing piers throughout the barrier islands, including the Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier, the Nags Head Fishing Pier, and Jennette’s Fishing Pier.

2. Studio 12

Visitors of all ages can tap into their artistic side at Studio 12. They offer educational and entertaining classes where you can make jewelry, create pottery, paint masterpieces, and more! It’s the perfect way to escape the weather during a rainy day on the Outer Banks.

3. Surfing

📷Avon Beach and Avon Fishing Pier are awesome spots to catch some waves. Head to Ride Hatteras Surf Shop and rent a board or take lessons from their friendly, professional staff. They offer rentals for other water sports, too, including paddleboarding, kayaking, and windsurfing.

5. Dining

The restaurants in Avon, NC, will give you a delicious taste of authentic Outer Banks eating! Places like Gidget’s Pizza and Pasta, Bros Sandwich Shack, Oceana’s Bistro, and Uglie Mugs Coffee Shop are some of the best spots in town to dine!

6. Kayaking

Surfing isn’t the only way to get on the water in the Outer Banks. Take a ride on the Jetovator and shoot up into the sky. It’s the only jet-propelled water sport on Hatteras Island and is available for folks of all ages and sizes. 10. Bermuda Triangle, OBX

Bermuda Triangle, OBX, is a certified dive center on Hatteras Island that offers scuba diving certification at various levels and scuba diving expedition tours. One of their most popular dive trips gets you up close and personal with the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Their scuba shop is located inside Frank and Fran’s Tackle Shop and offers scuba gear rentals and sales.
