Club Gas

Club Gas is actually a convenient store and gas station owned by Shane Barnette. Behind the store in a small alley is what I would describe as a “dive bar” or neighborhood bar but you can order food (really good food!), quaint, quiet, friendl. While exploring the area prior to relocating to Ruidoso a friend of mine who was accompanying me and helping with everything and I went in there to have a drink and ord dinner. While enjoying our drink I decided to call Mae who at the time I considered one of my best friends (as was her ex husband Richard). Richards dad and my dad were very good friends and I’m named after Richards dad...so we go way back! The last time I had been in this place was 3 years prior with Richard, Mae and Richards mom Aunt Sharron. So I called Mae to let her know where I was and that I was thinking of them. Mae and Richard had gotten divorced after 19 years and Richard had suddenly passed away earlier that year at a very early age. Mae told me to ask if Shane was there because he was the owner and one of Richards best friends. He was and as he slowly walked toward our table I could swear it was Richard! They favored a lot. I had goosebumps as I introduced myself and he said he did. Shane told me to always let him know if I needed anything and He was and has been very nice to me every time I see him. This is an excellent choice for a quick, simple meal, a drink and quite conversation.
