Soak up the sun and sea air at this unique beach getaway. This 7.6-star passive solar home (as featured in the Sustainable House Day 2024) is nestled on a grassy hill overlooking sand dunes, with ocean or park views from every window. On your doorstep are the delights of the Cape Ecovillage - the playground, farm, amphitheatre, sports precinct, wetlands and more. The charming coastal village of Cape Paterson and its stunning beaches are all within a 1.5km walk or ride.
The eco features of the house include smart orientation, shading, glazing, insulation and thermal mass, which result in comfortable and serene living spaces all year round. Its ideal for two smaller families, a larger extended family, four couples, or a group of friends.
Please note that the house is unsuitable for pets as the garden has no fences, cats are prohibited within the estate, and a family member has a pet allergy.
The Rooms
Bedroom 1: WIR and 1 x Queen bed. Contains a study with wired broadband internet - suitable for remote working. Portacot in the WIR.
Ensuite: shower, toilet and vanity.
Entrance: stores shoes & coats and is also a cosy reading nook
Bedroom 2: BIR and 2 Single beds which can be converted (with a bed connector) to a King bed on request.
Bedroom 3: BIR and 1 Queen bed.
Bathroom: vanity, bath and shower.
Toilet: adjoins laundry.
Laundry: washing machine and cleaning equipment.
Kitchen: Bosch appliances (induction hob, oven and dishwasher), double sink, quality utensils and cooking equipment. Breakfast nook with espresso machine, stovetop coffee pot, coffee grinder, and toaster.
Walk-in-pantry: LG refrigerator, Kitchenaid mixer, sandwich press, stick blender, rice cooker and microwave.
Dining: 8 seat dining table. High chair available in the garage.
Lounge: 10 seat King sofas.
Bedroom 4: 2 Single beds which can be converted (with a bed connector) to a King bed on request.
North-facing patio: large paved area with an 8 seat dining setting.
South-facing terrace: paved area with views of the ocean with bench seating and table for the gas BBQ (kept in the garage).
Garage: parking for one car, EV charger.
Service yard behind the garage: washing line and outdoor shower.
All bedrooms have ceiling fans, block-out cellular blinds, memory foam mattresses and bamboo/cotton bed linen.
The Queen beds have fitted sheets, top sheets, and king quilts.
The Single beds have fitted sheets and single quilts (top sheets available on request).
The King bed conversions have fitted sheets and two single quilts each (top sheets available on request).
If needed, there is a split system heater/air conditioner in the Lounge and Bedroom 1.

We're Rebecca & Kieran and we live in Melbourne with our three children. We love travel, nature, art, music, food and sport. We fell in love with the Cape Ecovillage the moment we discovered it several years ago and we hope you love it too! We designed and built the Eco Beach House in 2022-23, with the help of many local artisans. It’s our little slice of heaven where we get away from the city to relax, unwind and spend time immersed in nature.

Cape Paterson is easy to walk or cycle around. Shops and beaches are all within a 1-1.5km walk/ride.
The house has parking for 3 cars: in the garage, at the top of the driveway, and in the parking bay at the front of the house.

- place all rubbish bags in wheelie bins at rear of house.
- ensure that all cooking, BBQ, and dining utensils are clean.
- return all furniture and household items to their original location.
7. Let us know if anything in the house is broken, dirty or missing so we can fix, clean or replace it as soon as possible to make your stay a pleasant one!

- deep cleaning (e.g. for mouldy dishes, stained linen, greasy BBQ etc.)
(N.B. a standard short-term rental clean is included in your rental payment. A standard clean includes vacuuming/mopping floors, sanitising bathrooms and toilets, and washing guest linens.)
Damages exceeding the security deposit will be paid by you and any litigation, if necessary, will be handled in court.
