Airbnb Needs to Show Its Fees Upfront, Says the EU

Amsterdam, party capital and stag do destination du jour, is calling time on its 24/7 party. Following in the footsteps of other major tourist destinations, such as Barcelona and Venice, the city's main political parties have announced measures to address the impact of mass tourism on the city in an effort to reverse the "Disneyfication" of the Dutch capital.

Airbnb has removed New Orleans' pass-through registration system from its website, a system seen as an important enforcement tool for city inspectors who use the tool to identify properties in violation of city regulations. The pass-through registration system allows short-term rental hosts to automatically apply for a city license when they list their property on the Airbnb website.
