You really need to check this out Even if you just drive through; it's a unique place. The restaurant is good and right on the beach.
Puerto Aventuras is a fun stop on your tour. There is a marina with dolphins that is surrounded by restaurants and shops. It's fun to have a little refreshment while watching the dolpins.
Here's a really fun stop. A Monkey Sanctuary!! They have much more than just monkeys. There are also zebras and other exotic animals. The one thing they all have in common. Someone didn't want them anymore. Go support them. They are doing great work.
Stop at the Turtle Bay bakery and restaurant while in Akumal. They are very hidden. Drive towards the beach and through the arch. There is a parking lot on the left (they charge) and Turtle Bay Bakery is hidden back in the trees along with some other shops. If you are going to spend Christmas in the Riviera Maya, you can order a traditional American Christmas dinner from Turtle Bay including Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, and pie

Paa Mul is so close you could take a taxi and go for lunch. They have a nice restaurant right on the water and a very quirky vibe. It's an RV park like you've never seen before
