Other Fun Stuff

  • Sunset Beach Evening Flag Ceremony - More information HERE about this decades-old tradition.
  • "Conch Shell Guy" - This evening tradition takes place each night on the "left" side of the beach at Fern Road (as you face the bay). This local resident has a long-held tradition he learned from some native Hawaiians many years ago. He ends each day (weather and his schedule permitting) on the beach paying homage to the day with a ceremony using his treasured conch shell. Grab a chair or beach blanket, perhaps your favorite beverage and some snacks, and celebrate the end of a great day at the beach with local residents and visitors right on the bayside beach at Fern Road.
