This was the perfect place to stay in proximity to our family who has a lake house that was close by. Everything that was needed is provided in this house and more (coffee pods, a few snacks on counter, and single toiletry items)! Would definitely stay here again.

Spent three months here as a contracted worker at a local hospital and I cannot say enough good things about this listing. First and foremost the host is truly the BEST host I've ever interacted with on Airbnb. THC was incredibly quick to respond to messages, kept me up to date on important updates for the town (ex: street cleaning, plowing schedules, trash days) and checked in with me multiple times during my stay to ensure I was enjoying the home. The house does not have a washer/dryer so I went to a local Laundromat to do wash - which THC reimbursed me for. The list goes on. If you want a responsive host, this is the company for you! The house came with pretty much everything I needed. It's an older home, so the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors from time to time. The town is tiny but has the necessities (gas stations, grocery stores). If you're looking for local things to do Jim Thorpe has a lot to offer, the No.9 Coal Mine tour is a must and Tamaqua had some good food (Hope&Coffee, Stoker's Brewing, Wheel and Tamaqua Station Restaurant were some of my favorites).

Cute, clean, cozy place to stay! The area itself is a little far from some ski slopes but still doable! We enjoyed our stay very much. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom in the basement.

Beautifully decorated, very quaint and cozy, my only complaint is the walls are a little thin so we could hear the neighbors next door talking, walking, etc., but our stay was pleasant, the host communicated well and ensured everything about our stay ran smoothly

Wonderful and spacious home. Super cozy vibes in every room! Equipped with everything we needed. And the town of Jim Thorpe was only a 10-15 min drive away.

Over 50% of this listing photos are of the surrounding area. In our opinion that makes this an inaccurate listing. My BF and I have been digital nomads since Nov 2020 via Airbnb. So we have no mailing address. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the mailing rules and the host provided the INCORRECT address upon reservation approval. So I lost a $50 package in the mail due to the error - and the rule that isn’t very long term reservation friendly. Eventually the rule was remedied but it was too late for the lost package. Not a great start to our stay. While the house is very charming, it’s was pretty crazy to think we paid less at our apartment in San Diego for one month of rent than we paid at a one month reservation here. What we can say is that Theta Capital is very responsive to messages.

Response:All of the photos on the listing identify many of the nearby attractions, and activities in the surrounding area are clearly labeled with the location and distance from the home as estimated by (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. This information is also stated in the listing description. It is true that guests cannot receive mail at the property. There are multiple reasons for this rule, which is clearly and simply stated in the house rules that are sent to all guests to review and sign prior to booking. Recognizing that this was an inconvenience for you given the length of your stay, we went over and above to provide you alternate options to receive packages prior to your arrival and arranged a special pickup of one of your packages by our property manager to ensure you received it. As hosts, we value all feedback as it gives us a sense of what pleases our guests, which is the goal of most Airbnb owners. So thank you for the feedback and we will consider points raised and make improvements where warranted. It is also confusing as a host when guests leave negative reviews and use words like "inaccurate" based on information relayed and available upfront. It is disheartening that you didn't leave feeling like you had a great experience. We truly want that for our guests and always do what we can within reason to provide it. You were considerate in communications throughout your stay, and quiet and respectful guests. We wish you safe travels home.

The home is an old home in a town that has fallen on hard times, but the inside was perfect: renovated beautifully, immaculately clean, well-appointed, and very comfortable for the stay with my teen daughter and her friend. We each had our own room/space as the rooms are spread over 3 floors and appreciate that, as well as being able to have breakfast there in the morning (full kitchen available with all you'd need). We stayed for 3 nights in July and mostly spent the two full days we were there out of the house. The two things travelers should consider is that Lansford is near (15-45 minute drive) to many places you'd want to go in the area BUT the town itself does not have much to offer right there--so you will have to drive to go for coffee/dining/etc. We worked around this and it did not impact our time there in any significant way. The second thing that gets mentioned a lot is the stairs are steep and the bathroom in the finished basement. What I'd add is that this is an old house that's been well restored but old houses come with quirks. The stairs in this one are steep and the planks are not a standard width. For perspective, all three of us there are under 5 '4 and wear a women's 7-8 shoe size and our feet would not fit on the planks. We found the work around to safely taking the stairs was to put our feet sideways on the stairs when going down and to use the rail--not a big deal for us to do this but if this isn't possible for travelers it is something to consider. Again, overall we really enjoyed the inside of the house and how comfortable, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed it is.

The place was top notch clean! If you have any medical injuries… the bathroom was on the bottom floor. The bedrooms were on the third floor. Host was nice enough to leave treats and Kerrigan cups. That was a nice touch.
