If you have never used an Ecobee WiFi thermostat it may seem a bit odd the first time you see it. When you first look at it, it will recognize you are there and show you a menu and the current temperature. To the right of the temperature is the set temperature. Each unit is separate and so you can adjust them independently.

If you want to enjoy the outside air with the doors open, just adjust both displays to a temperature above the outdoor temperature in the summer or a lower temperature in the winter. This will keep the unit from shutting off if it finds it is running and not cooling or heating. This will keep the unit from damage.

The slide gauge is touch sensitive. So by moving up or down you adjust the temperature you want. Below is a video demonstrating this in action.

Using the Ecobee Thermostat
How to adjust the Ecobee thermostat
This is mainly for my beautiful & intelligent wife, who refuses to learn how to change the temperature on our 'highly intuitive' Ecobee thermostat & keeps complaining that the house is too cold. Here you go Honey!

When on A/C (snowflake icon) you can adjust the temperature warmer or cooler than the current temperature. If you adjust it cooler, the A/C will come on if not already on. If you adjust it warmer, the A/C will turn off and will not turn on until the temperature rises above the set temperature. It will not activate heat to turn on.

If it is set to Heat (flame icon) you can also adjust the temperature warmer or cooler than the current temperature. If you adjust it warmer, the heat will come on if not already running. If you adjust it cooler the heat will turn off and will not turn on until the temperature falls below the set temperature. It will not activate the A/C to turn on.

When it is set to an auto setting, the display will show both icons for heating and cooling. You will see a red number for the heating and a blue number for cooling. Be aware that you can not set the cooling and heating temperatures close together. The automatic settings will not allow for this and will over ride it.

Occasionally a guest has managed to set the thermostat to a pre-programmed schedule by accident or purposefully and can't figure out how to remove it. To remove the schedule action such as "sleep" or "away" you can simply change the temperature. If this doesn't allow you, please let us know. But to insure your comfort, we have changed the temperature during scheduled activities to be a comfortable range of 72-74 degrees. Even if you are comfortable, please let us know the issue and we can make necessary changes online.

If you have an issue with the temperature or thermostat, always contact us. We will be able to check on the system for you.
