What to do and where to eat?

Hiking
Blue Ridge Parkway (Free)- Humpback Rock and Crabtree falls are favorites. Strenuous hike. Can sometimes be closed due to weather on the mountain. Check ahead of time. Entrance at Afton

Shenandoah National Park (fee or park pass) - entrance at Afton

Fortune’s Cove Nature Preserve (free) - approx 5 mile hike. Beautiful, near Lovingston, about a 15 minute drive from the cabin.

Claudius Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel (Afton, Va)

Virginia Blue Ridge Trail (Piney River) (free) - mostly flat walk next to the Piney River on old railway trail. Very pretty. Walk or bike. (Easy, flat)
