This is one of our family's favorite attractions. It's a short drive from The Sand Bucket at Seaside and one that we visit often. This is a "must see" if you have children.
The Alligator Farm recently celebrated 125 years of entertainment. It was founded in 1893 and is one of the oldest zoos in the country and one of the oldest tourist attractions in Florida. Though the name implies alligators, you will find a variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles including Komodo dragons, a 12' King Cobra, a giant python, lemurs, and Galapagos turtles. The rookery over the alligator lagoon at the back of the park becomes a spectacular site in the spring with hundreds of nesting shore birds. Some of the nests are so close to the walkway you can count the eggs in the nests. Warning: During the late spring, this area is quite loud and the photographers flock to the park to catch that "million dollar" shot.
