Our favorite places at Deep Creek Lake to enjoy some wonderful food, drink and the beauty of this region!

Dutch’s at Silver Treedutchsatsilvertree.com, One of several boat-up restaurants and bars on the lake. This one is less than five minutes by car or boat from our retreat homes and it sits on the same property with our Silver Tree condo. Dutch's is arguably the best restaurant at the lake. Top choice for a great high-end meal or lakefront pub grub. They have some of the best crab cakes and crab soup in the region (and we're from Annapolis!). Their salmon is spectacular and their steaks are truly superb. In the summer they have great outdoor seating with free boat slips for guests arriving by water and an outdoor playground for kids and water dishes for pups!

Honi-Honi Bar

 Arrive by boat here too - just around the corner from Dutch's. Great lakefront bar with outdoor games, live music, and a cool pirate ship playground for the kids. The "Honi" adjoins the local Uno's restaurant so there's something for everyone - from pizzas to burgers and family size tables for bigger gatherings. Don't miss the chance to try climbing the life-size elephant or participate in the Deep Creek Dunk fundraiser by jumping into the adjacent frozen waters of the lake in late winter!

Mountain State Brewing Co.
mountainstatebrewing.com, super cool local brew pub that kicks out some wonderful local suds (try the Miner's Daughter stout!). They have a wonderful selection of homemade flat bread pizzas that you can watch fire in their brick-ovens on-site (we love the Cuban). .

Archie’s Barbeque
archiesbbq.com, Archie's saves the day when you need a bbq fix. They put out some excellent 'q' at reasonable prices and generous portions. We like grabbing it to go and chilling around the outdoor decks of the condo or one of our retreat homes.

Canoe on the Run
facebook.com/canoeotr, local family-owned and operated with wonderful locally sourced lunches, salads and soups -- they also have excellent breakfast options too (amazing oatmeal!).

Lakeside Creamery lakesidecreamery.com, obligatory ice-cream stop on the main road in mid-lake location. Busy at times but worth the wait -- and you can take the boat to this one too (just be prepared for the 50-step climb to the lakeside treats here).

Our absolute favorite pizza place at the lake - you'll be hard-pressed to find a better homemade crust anywhere (try it and see if you disagree). The chicken BBQ is phenomenal and the 26" pies require a small SUV to transport or take your boat and enjoy a slice on the ride home. 

Trader’s Coffee House traderscoffeehouse.com, Downstair's from Brenda's, the local version of Starbuck's without the branding :). Great coffee, breakfast wraps, waffles and lovely views of the lake. Boat gets you to this one too.

 Cheap and very good authentic Mexican food in Oakland – it looks like a dive but they do Mexican right! 

There are more options, of course, but we find that these are our most regular stops!
