A family hike is a great way to spend a day. Here in the Texas Gulf Coast you won't find any mountains to hike, but you can find some exciting trails. The Armand Bayou Nature Center is close by and features five miles of maintained nature trails. You can see flora and fauna of Texas on your own. If you prefer a guided hike, they offer those as well. The ABNC offers kayak hikes for adults and families with children 16 years and older. There are night hikes for participants 6 years and older. Depending the time of the year, you could participate in an owl prowl, bat hike, or firefly Friday. Day attractions include an 1800's Farm site to explore as well as a children's discovery area. On Saturdays, you can book a pontoon boat cruise at daybreak, sunset, or night.
