FAQ’s - Your Summer Vacation at Hampton Beach New Hampshire

Q: Are there still lodging restrictions in New Hampshire for hotels and short term vacation rentals?

A: On May 29th Governor Sununu announced the “leisure” lodging restriction has been lifted, and rentals may commence beginning June 5th with reasonable limitations.

Q: What are the lodging limitations?

A: Owners may rent to New Hampshire residents and may also rent to out of state residents who have followed “stay at home orders” for the 14 days prior to check-in. This “14 day quarantine” is not as restrictive as it sounds. It simply asks that out of state guests attest that they have remained at a home for at least 14 days before arriving in New Hampshire, with the exception of going out for essential items and when outside of the home maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks when within less than 6 feet of another person during this 14 day “quarantine”.

Q: What are your cleaning protocols?

A: The cleaning service has adopted the American Hotel & Lodging Association “enhanced hotel cleaning standards”.

Q: Are New Hampshire state (ocean) beaches open?

A: NH state (ocean) beaches will open June 1st for swimming, walking, or jogging. Sitting (lounging on the beach is not allowed initially.)

Q: When will NH state (ocean) beaches be open for “lounging”?

A: There has not been a date set, however I spoke with Senator Sherman (the Seacoast State Senator) who is also part of the Hampton Beach re-opening team; they are advocating for lounging by July 1st. However this has not been announced and therefore is only an estimate. The governor gives weekly press conferences and we hope to know for sure by mid-June if not sooner.

Q: Will there be shows at the Sea Shell Stage?

A: According to Village District Commissioner Chuck Rage, entertainment on the Seashell Stage and fireworks put on by the Village District are not scheduled until later in June. The commissioner said beach officials are looking at ways in the weeks leading up to the first performance to hold shows safely.
