Surrounded by tall pines and just minutes from Yosemite's southern entrance in the residential community of Fish Camp, This unique mountain cabin can be your family-friendly home away from home while exploring the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park. The Little Pine cabin is the smaller of two cabins at the Yosemite Forest Lodge.

To get here it's just a short drive off of Highway 41, through the forest along a narrow road that was once a railroad right-of-way. When you arrive you'll find your home situated in a gently-sloped clearing surrounded by a majestic grove of gigantic pines. Outside your home there is an open yard area, a private deck and covered porch areas so you can enjoy the forest environment comfortably in any weather.

For the most accurate, up-to-date details be sure to visit our website (look for the "Owners Website" link below). You'll find more helpful information, more pictures, and full details on our rates and policies. Our availability calendar is also there for your vacation planning convenience.

It's best to contact us by email but you can also call and leave a message if you prefer. When checking our calendar remember that we normally need a full calendar day between groups in order to prepare the house. Happy planning!

The elevation here is just over 5000 feet; it is nearly always cool and shady in the summer, with comfortable daytime highs that average in the 70's (~20 degrees Celsius) and cool evenings with average lows in the low 50's (~10 degrees Celsius). There is very little or no rain during the summer months. The low humidity means your towels and swimsuits will air-dry quickly.

Our prime location puts you away from the crowds, yet close to everything Yosemite has to offer. The southern entrance to Yosemite is less than two miles up the road. If you love the outdoors, this is the place to call home. There is so much do to here that you could easily fill your day with excitement without ever entering the park itself!

Love the little cottage in the woods
We love this cottage and consider it our first choice when visiting Yosemite. We actually stayed the summer of 2014, but life got in the way of writing a review. The cottage comes fully stocked, all you need to bring is food, clothing and a love of the outdoors. We planned to do a bus tour of the park which picked us up across the way at the hotel which was a 10-15 minute walk, the following day we went to Shavers lake (very clean and friendly staff) then we drove around to Oakhurst and Mariposa. After a busy day this is the perfect place to rest and recharge. The owners have lots of informational handouts which came in very handy and their communication with renters goes above and beyond any expectations.

Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at Little Pine. It is in a beautiful setting and has everything you could possibly need. Owners provide dish detergent, all laundry needs, body wash, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, ziploc bags, trash bags, spices, coffee, condiments, cooler....I could go on and on. Simply put, I have stayed in many vacation rentals and none come close to matching the amenities provided at this one. Communication with the owners was excellent from beginning to end and I received a refund on my cleaning deposit in the specified time frame. I would stay again without any hesitation and highly recommend it! Cabin is 5 minutes from south entrance of Yosemite. It is a 45 minute drive to the valley; however, it is a long drive from all entrances to the valley even if you are staying at NP campgrounds/lodges so don't let that scare you away. The biggest plus to the south side (besides Little Pine) is that you get to see Tunnel View every day and it is truly spectacular!

Perfect evrything. Truly a pleasure.
Truly an amazing experience. From the directions, to arrival info and access to property, to the care given to us as guests, to the location itself and all the amenities, it was all way and above expectations. I could not have been more pleased of the accommodations, communication and follow up regarding our stay. I would stay here next time without a doubt- great access to the park, amazingly friendly people and beautiful quiet retreat away from it all.

Feels Like Home!
My partner and our 1.5 year old daughter spent a weekend here on a 3 week trip around California. Of all the places we stayed, here felt the most comfortable. 3 nights wasn't enough! The setting of the property is brilliant and the location relative to Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove makes it ideal. We only had one weekend, but we managed to see everything we wanted that was possible with a little one in tow. The property was spotless and the in-floor furnace was brilliant at warming of the place for a cosy evening after a day out exploring. The supplies on hand meant that we didn't need to bother with half the items we brought with us - quite handy that you provide washing detergent, zip-lock bags, cooking spices etc. The list goes on! Bottom line -awesome place and will come back in a heart-beat if we're ever in the area.

Cosy, comfortable cabin, perfect location to explore Yosemite
Fantastic cosy, comfortable, spotlessly clean and excellently equipped cabin. Location perfect to explore Yosemite. 10 mins drive to Mariposa Grove and an hour to Yosemite Valley. Gorgeous views of trees from every window so feels like you're a million miles away but just a few minutes to Fish Camp store and restaurants at Tenaya Lodge. The kitchen is stocked with every ingredient and utensil you could hope for. The owners are very efficient at getting back to you. It's obvious they've put a lot of thought into making it a home away from home. I'd definately recommend this cabin and would love to go back!

The Little Pine - Cute homey cabin perfect for two!
We had a lovely time at the cabin! The Big and Little Pines are directly across from Tenaya Lodge at Fish Camp off a residential street. The Little Pine offers good value for money. It's not luxurious but it meets all the basic needs and more. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. If you forget something chances are they have it there. Clean and comfortable. It's about 20 mins to the entrance of the National Park. I can see Camp Curry might be a more convenient location for sightseeing however I am glad we stayed at Fish Camp. It was a treat to return to the peace and quiet in the cabin at the end of the day. Other more central locations can be really busy. We were stuck in traffic for 40 mins because of the large number of tourists so that just ruined the wilderness experience! The reservation process was also easy. David and the housekeeper are super nice people. We had left some items behind. The housekeeper tracked us down and mailed the items back to us which we didn't even know we were missing! Just nice, honest people. Advice if you go - pick up groceries at Oakhurst. Nothing much at Fish Camp. There's a convenient store at the entrance of the park but hours/choices are limited. Definitely recommend this place. A home away from home!

Little Pine is Wonderful!
We arrived late our first night and found a cozy welcome with lamps lit, and music playing. The setting is amazing, among the towering pine trees. We enjoyed coffee each morning on our private deck, listening to the birds. The cabin was stocked with many basic supplies in the kitchen and bathroom. While the cabin is older and rustic, it is clean and had all the comforts of home. The location was within a few miles of the south entrance to Yosemite NP, convenient and yet away from the crowds. We also appreciated the personal contact from the owner the day we were traveling to CA, informing us of a wildfire south of Oakhurst, which closed the road there. He kept in touch all day by email with updates. We were able to re-route through the western entrance of the park. We would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect for our family of 3
Stayed here with my wife and 18 month old daughter and it was great for exploring Yosemite. It's not necessarily toddler proof so you have to be diligent if you have a little one running around by other than that it's better than advertised. Cabinets full of spices, baggies, olive oil, etc. as well as a grill, wifi, satellite tv and all just a few minutes from the park entrance. The wifi connection isn't the fastest or most reliable but given the location you can't beat it. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for an alternative to camping or staying at one of the overpriced lodges inside the park. Be sure to check out the Fresno Dome and Shadow of the Giants hikes as alternatives to the trails in the park that are overrun with hordes of tourists that show up by the bus load. Also sentinel dome is a great hike with an awesome payoff that's lightly used by Yosemite standards. And all of those are within 40 minutes of Little Pine.

Great spot!
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our four night stay in this quiet cabin. Interactions with the owners to arrange for details and payment were prompt and simple both before and after our visit. It is a very short drive to the southern entrance to Yosemite, our vacation destination in this case. We found the property to be very clean and well-maintained. It is exactly as stated and as pictured on this site. It was so helpful to have every prep tool we needed in house to make our meals, and the kitchen also has a great stock of spices. The laundry was also great to have after a long day of hiking in the park. I would highly recommend this place to a traveling couple or small family.

I stayed at this property October of 2012. We were very pleased with the cabin. It was very clean and well kept. Nothing was broken or old. It was especially nice that they had the kitchen so well equipped. Very comfortable. I would recommend this rental unit. The owner was prompt in answering questions and once we arrived at the unit we never needed anything else! Great little cabin and the perfect size for my husband and I. NIce quiet place to relax and as near to Yosemite as you can get without staying in the park.
