Just 5 minutes to Lake Lure Beach and Chimney Rock Village, this area offers abundant dining, outdoor activities like boat rentals, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking. Adventure seekers will love zip-lining, ATV rentals, and rafting, golf courses are nearby for golfers. Asheville, with its vibrant culture and famous Biltmore Estate, is an easy 45-ish minute day trip. There are many good restaurants nearby, entertainment for the family with shopping, mini-golf, gem mine, ice cream and lake beach activities, including water slides!

Important Notes

Lake Lure is drawn down for maintenance from January to March, so plan accordingly if you’re bringing a boat (permits required by the Town of Lake Lure). Due to Hurricane Helene, the Lake is closed for dredging and repair.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind during your stay.

Guests can access all areas other than garage and lower level closet as the owners utilize those spaces for storage.

We are always available via messaging within AirBnb and will provide a number at check in to reach us for urgent matters. We strive to answer requests or questions ASAP.

The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet with private properties. Sitting on the back deck viewing the granite faces, you can picture scenes from the Last of the Mohicans (filmed nearby) on the cliffs like the ones visible from the house.

Parking for at least 5 in our driveway. The driveway is mostly sloped due to the terrain although there are two flatter areas toward the top entrance for those that need it. The neighborhood is walkable and lightly traveled from what we’ve observed. There is also parking for one on a gravel drive that is flat in front of the shed.

The lush forest that surrounds Lake Lure is one of the most biologically diverse forests in the world, second only to the Amazon. Sit outside and gaze at the granite face view. Try to identify some of our favorites like Tiger Rock and Waterfall Ridge. Sip a cocktail or a cup of tea in our robust Adirondack rockers. Gather with family and friends around the large outdoor table. Watch the eagles soar above the cliff faces. In the Fall enjoy your own private leaf show with sweeping views of the verdant forest in the backyard. Take a short drive to Apple Valley to pick apples and pumpkins. The home is 26 miles from The Biltmore Estate.

Play pool or poker on the lower level or take a soak in our nearly new hot tub. With everything to do here at the house, you won’t want to leave, but should you want to, take a quick half mile walk or ride and enter Chimney Rock State Park’s Rumbling Bald Access(please note this is the name of the park-it is not the neighborhood, “Rumbling Bald.”) . This area has hiking and climbing galore including trails and a bouldering park. There are no admission fees via this entrance.

You can rent a boat or bring your own. Check with Lake Lure to be sure you can access a permit, first. Permits are required for all boats. Every Friday there is a Farmers Market in the summer.

We attempted to set the kitchen up for a home chef. We hope we’ve thought of everything! But if we have missed something, that would make your stay more enjoyable, in the kitchen or anywhere else throughout our home, please let us know and we will make every effort to accommodate.
