FANS & Split AC:
All our fans and AC are controlled by remote controls located in each room. To start the fans in the living room, click the left light switch under the clock, using the white remote control with the flower symbol on it, located on top of the cabinet below the TV, simply push the power on button followed by the right arrow button. We usually set the fan speed to medium. Bedroom fans are similarly controlled by light switches and remotes.
TV REMOTES:
Press the TV button and then power to turn on TV. Then press the CABLE button and then power to turn on cable box.
POOL ACCESS:
Please be aware of the following Building Rules for using the community pool:
• Hours 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• The pools are for the specific use of residents and their guests only!
• No Lifeguard is on duty – so the use of the pool is at your own risk.
• Excessive horseplay, running, screaming, cannon balls, diving, jumping, Marco Polo or other noisy games or boisterous conduct that may disturb other guests are not permitted. Parents are responsible for their children.
• Infants must wear swim diapers.
• Only safety floating devices, goggles, and masks are allowed in the pool. No rafts, air mattresses, floating chairs, boogie boards, fins, snorkels, footballs, or beach balls, or other devices are permitted.
• Glass and other breakable containers or materials are not allowed. This is strictly enforced.
• Food must be confined to tables and BBQ area.
• Music can only be played with the use of headphones.
Please note: Although these rules may seem over the top (they are buildings not ours), it is to ensure all guests have a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Kids can definitely have fun and be kids, just try to be respectful of other guests.
Pool Access:
Our pool is completely fenced for security. The access code is 3825.
CHILDREN’S ITEMS:
Playpen and Highchair are in the main floor bathroom closet.
GAMES & BOOKS:
We have a small collection of games and books which are in the cabinet under the TV. There is a larger collection of books up in the Pavillion. Feel free to take a take and leave a book.
BEACH ACCESSORIES:
Please feel free to use the beach chairs and umbrella located on the lower lanai. Please walk around the outside of our building to access the chairs etc. We would appreciate it if you kept the chairs and umbrella outside our unit to minimize the amount of sand that comes inside. Our Yeti cooler is in the powder room closet. Please ensure that any sand is cleaned from the bottom of the cooler before bringing it back into the townhouse.
LOST ITEMS:
Please let us know if you lose an item provided for your use from the condo so we can replace it BEFORE the next guest arrives.
SAND!!!
Please be courteous and wash all the sand off any items you use BEFORE bringing them back up to the condo. Almost every beach has showers or hoses to rinse sand off.
Please DO NOT rinse off sand in any of our sinks or showers because they will clog the pipes. Any repairs due to pipes clogged with sand or additional cleaning fees charged by our cleaning service will be deducted from your deposit. Also, please do not shake sand off over the lanai (balcony) because the sand will end up on our lower lanai.
SUNBLOCK & TANNING OIL!!!
Suntan oil is almost impossible to remove from carpets, upholstery, and linen. Also, make sure to only use REEF SAFE sunblock in the ocean. It is ILLEGAL to use any containing OXYBENZONE or OCTINOZATE!
HANGING TOWELS & COMMON AREAS:
It is against the complex’s House Rules to hang any towels on the balcony railing, leave any sand, shoes, or any other items outside of the lower door walkway.
RESPECT THE NEIGHBORS:
Please remember that many of our neighbors are full-time residents and that this is their home. Please try not to be too loud or make excessive noise, especially during the building’s quiet hours.
AIR CONDITIONERS:
We ask that you please take advantage of the fresh air and ocean breezes to cool the unit. If you open the patio door and the front door you can get an amazing cross breeze that really cools off the condo along with the high-powered ceiling fans.
If you do find the need to use the AC, we ask that you please use it sparingly and intermittently. Please make sure the ceiling fans are on high. You will be surprised how cool it makes the unit. Please make sure you turn off the AC each time you leave the townhouse!
TRASH:
There is a trash dumpster and recycling cans located on the left side of the parking area as you entered our village.
BUGS:
Due to the warm weather and tropical climate on Maui, bugs are a fact of life on the island. To prevent any unwanted houseguests, please do not leave any food or any open food items out! Also, do not leave any dirty dishes in the sink and make sure to throw the trash out daily. If you do find some unwanted guests, please let us know right away and we will send pest control out ASAP.
SUPPLIES PROVIDED:
Unlike most vacation rentals, we provide a starter set of supplies for your convenience but depending on the length of your stay you may have to provide some of these items yourself. Cleaning and other supplies are in the powder room closet on the main floor.
BATTERIES AND LIGHTBULBS:
There are batteries and light bulbs located in the powder room closet on the main floor. Most issues with the remote control are due to the batteries needing to be replaced. Please do not try to change lightbulbs on any hard to reach or specialty lighting.
WARNING SIRENS:
A monthly test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and warning sirens is conducted at 11:45 am on the first State workday of each month. This consists of a 50 second steady tone with a 20 second break followed by a 50 second wailing tone. During a natural disaster, a steady three-minute siren tone is the attention alert signal. When the siren is heard, tune your radio or television to any local station and listen for emergency information and instructions. Listen to EAS broadcasts for further instructions and the all-clear announcement.
CHECK-OUT TIME:
Check-out time is 11:00 am. Due to the tight cleaning schedule between guests’ check-outs and check-ins, we are not able to grant any late check-outs.
CLEANING:
Upon check in, the unit will have been professionally cleaned for you and all items should be in working order. If you have any cleaning issues or find any broken items, please contact us immediately.
During your stay, please try to maintain the unit as best as possible. If at some point during your stay you would like the unit cleaned (for an additional fee) please let us know and we will arrange it. At the end of your stay we would greatly appreciate it if you made sure to leave everything as you found it upon check in. We also ask that you:
• Rinse any used dishes and place them in the dishwasher and turn it on
• Throw any opened food or drinks away
• Throw any trash away in the dumpsters.
Feel free to leave any items you purchased (other than opened foods or drinks) that you think the next guests might appreciate it. Reef safe sunblock is always needed and appreciated!
