This comfortable mountain getaway is conveniently located close to several mountain communities and outdoor recreation. The cabin is only 4 miles to Lake Glenville, 9 miles to Cashiers, 20 miles to Highlands and 20 miles to Sylva. The home is situated on a 2.5 acre lot in the Nantahala National Forest on Pilot Mountain. There are year round long range mountain views off the back deck and sounds of running water from Trout Creek can be heard below. The main level provides an open floor plan with the kitchen and breakfast bar opening up to the dining and living rooms. There are many large windows and a set of french doors that look out at the beautiful mountain views and Nantahala Forest. A stone wood burning fireplace is the focal point in the living and is complemented well by the beautiful surrounding pine walls. The entire home has hardwood floors that add to the home's mountain charm.

There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom is situated on the main level and is furnished with a hickory style queen bed. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are located on the second floor. One bedroom is furnished with a hickory style queen bed and the third room with 2 sets of bunk beds, 1 bunked and 1 split as two singles.

There is a pack-n-play and highchair available as well.

The partially covered deck runs along the length of the house with plenty of seating and views of the mountains. There is also a covered carport that is perfect for extended outdoor entertaining and games.

While we have Wifi, it is satellite wifi and slower than what you're probably used to in a big city. You can surf the internet, read emails, check social media, but you can't stream Netflix etc, Zoom, or play games that require a lot of data.

Small children are welcome, but please keep in mind the house is on the side of a mountain and there isn't any lawn area to play. The edge of the driveway has a steep drop-off and could be dangerous for children if unattended.

There is a Ring doorbell camera on the entrance door for security purposes. The camera is not to be tampered with at any time.

“Perfect Escape from 2020”
What a perfect place to escape all that 2020 has brought. Everything about the Trout House was perfect. The views, the location, and everything you could possibly need already there in the cabin. We spent time hiking and exploring waterfalls, visiting nearby Cashiers and Highlands, and playing board games right there in the cabin. The deck was the perfect spot to drink coffee and take In all the peace and quiet. Robbin was wonderful and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Perfect mountain getaway for two families. Close to waterfalls and hiking... yet secluded and quiet with a big front porch and nice view of the mountains. Very easy check in and check out! Robbin supplied very nice touches... like smores for the fire pit.

The cabin was amazing. Cozy, quiet, picturesque, and conveniently located near so many things to do and see in the area. Robbin's hospitality was great. Clear directions to the cabin, great recommendations for things to do, and available for questions as needed throughout the weekend. The cabin was well-stocked with amenities (toiletries, condiments, cooking utensils, linens, etc.). We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Nice cabin in the woods that suits families as well as couples for a mountain visit. All you need in the kitchen is right there. Lovely deck to enjoy throughout your stay. The internet is a bit slow so keep that in mind if you have kids playing games on the internet. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms helped us during our summer visit. Robbin was in touch throughout our stay and responded quickly to any questions we had.

I’ve done a lot of Airbnbs and this place was just wonderful! First, did not lack for a single kitchen/cooking amenity! Views were gorgeous and the location was perfect. I have been to the area many times, and wanted access to Cashiers/Highlands, but no noise. Location is perfect for easy access to towns with a feel of being off the beaten path. We could hear nothing at night but the water rushing nearby. Lots of comfortable space inside and out. I highly recommend this lovely, private house!

5 Stars all around. We were two families staying at Robbin’s place for a quiet New Year’s getaway and the place was perfect. Quiet spot that was still convenient to local hiking trails and casual dining. The home was sparkling clean and had all the necessary amenities we required. Great outdoor space to sit by a warm fire and roast marshmallows. Robbin was very communicative and accommodating. Thanks for a wonderful stay in the mountains.

Comfortable house with amazing mountain views, the perfect balance between tranquil seclusion and close proximity to city amenities, and a real home away from home feel. Robbin is an excellent host, very responsive and helpful, outstanding hospitality. The house is located in a small, quiet mountain community and is secluded and private. On the other hand, the house is located close to Cashiers, about a 15-minute drive, where there are several restaurants, boutiques and other shopping, a great family-friendly microbrewery with good food (Whiteside Brewing Company) and a large grocery store (Ingles). The house is full of amenities and thoughtful touches. Very comfortable beds and linens, roomy bedrooms and common areas, amazing mountain views from the large deck with comfortable outdoor furniture, TV with enough channels to satisfy most, large closets and dressers in all bedrooms which was great for our week-long stay, a fully stocked kitchen with more than enough dishes, utensils, pots and kitchen tools, plenty of wood for the fireplace, and even cloth napkins on the large dining room table. We were sad to leave.

My husband and I fell in love with the NC Mountains after a friend moved there in 2012. Now that we're empty nesters we decided to purchase property in Glenville to be able to enjoy the mountains more. The fresh mountain air is a nice change from the Florida humidity we usually experience! We love this house and hope you will love staying at it as much as we do! Sitting on the deck is our favorite place, just enjoying the fresh mountain air and the beautiful long range mountain views while at the same time feeling like we're sitting up high among the trees.

We hope you will find our home comfortable and enjoy your stay!
