Visit the Nicholson House Restaraunt (0.5 miles) for some laid back country cooking. They have a nice gift shop too! (Closed Sunday and Monday)

Also check out Layden's Country Store near the restaraunt for a back in time shopping experience! Hoop Cheese and Fresh cut meat! People come from miles around to shop there! Quaint little town of Hertford is Nearby and Historic Edenton is only 20 minutes drive as well as Elizabeth City where you will find Wal-Mart, Chain Restaraunts, Privately Owned Restaraunts, Chain Stores, a mall, Albemarle Museum, movie theater, great ice cream at Nu Quality or Berrilicious. Best Mexican Restaurant (Three Amigos).

After a long day sight seeing, you will LOVE getting away from it all in your own little cottage in the pines!

“We found a new place to stay ”
My friend and I rented this cottage for four days for our annual fishing trip to this area. This cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay,it is quiet and most important safe. They have a fish cleaning area behind the cottage that we took advantage of, something we couldn't do at a motel. Floyd ( one of the owners ) even deposed of the scraps for us. We will definitely be back next year.

This space and location was unbelievably peaceful yet around enough to do with some short drives. Hiking, Canoeing, Kayaking, beach and food not to far off. Be sure to look at the recommendations on the fridge! Host are wonderful!

We only stayed 3 days, but they were so peaceful we wished it had been longer. It was so quiet and comfortable here! The kitchen had everything we needed and even more! We didn't take advantage of the outdoor firepit, but it sure is a very nice feature. We recommend this and would loved to stay here again when we are in the area.
