We are so excited to share our cozy and comfortable cabin!
The cabin is located in the mountain town of Arnold, CA, nestled in the Stanislaus National Forest. This is only 2.5 hours away from the Bay Area. In the summer, guests enjoy the amenities at the Lakemont Pines private lake. The winter offers skiing and snowboarding only minutes away from the property. Hiking, wine tasting in nearby Murphy's, and other activities are available year-round. Big Trees State Park, boasting giant sequoias, is minutes away as well.

The cabin is an easy five minutes walk to the lake, then an extra five minutes walk around the lake will get you to the beach area and HOA clubhouse.

Entering the cabin you will find a warm open floor plan, including: living room, kitchen and dinning area. Inviting you to relax after a long day with comfortable seating where you may put your feet up, socialize, eat, drink, and be merry.

The living room has a large comfortable reclining sofa and love seat, making it ideal for those 'ski and fish stories', and a place to watch TV programs after a long day at the lake.

The dining table seats 6, with extra seating at the kitchen island. The kitchen is nicely equipped to make cooking efficient and easy.

Downstairs you will find the master bedroom with a king size bed, and a bathroom with shower/bath combo. Laundry room is located in the bathroom.

The upstairs loft is a combination sleeping (1 queen bed and 2 full futons) and gaming room (pool table, games, kids play area, and Roku TV with Xbox/DVDs). There is another bedroom upstairs with a queen size bed and a half bathroom.

The WiFi will enable you to work or attend school from the cabin if you have to.

We have outdoor only security cameras with no voice recording. There are no cameras inside the cabin.

In order to book, guest must sign a rental agreement and provide a copy of their ID.

IMPORTANT: In order to keep our cleaning fee low, guests must bring their own sheets, pillow covers, and towels. Comforters and blankets are provided. For more details, please review the house rules section.

• Be advised that our cabin has a septic system, please treat it accordingly.
• Like most cabins in the area, our cabin does not have air conditioning. The cabin stays fairly
cool due to being under the trees, and we provide fans as well.
• Being in the mountains, the cabin's driveway is steep. You must be comfortable going up and
backing down the driveway.
• This is our second home and we hope you enjoy your time there as much as we do! Please
treat our house as if it were your own.

“What a peaceful oasis not far from home”
It was wonderful to learn about Mouna’s cabin. My family and I will forever be grateful for the experience we had during our stay over Thanksgiving break. Lakewood cabin exceeded our expectations! We totally overpacked, haha! Mouna made sure we arrived to a warm welcome - literally- she turned on the heat! I’ve never stayed anywhere where they do this for you. Mouna is such a caring host - she is kind, responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, and warm. Attention to detail from the very start. This cabin is clean, spacious, and FULLY equipped for anyONE or family - it’s as if it’s a turn-key home ready to live in. We recommend you go as you are with weather appropriate clothing & any specifics of course, but just know, the cabin has what you would need for a restful & fun retreat. If by chance you forgot something & don’t see it, there’s a shopping plaza literally 5 minutes drive left at the main road. You’re also within minutes to great hiking trails, dining and quaint shops. The cabin itself is set within an HOA community, so there is definitely a sense of safety because it’s private property. The private lake is less than 5 minutes walk down the hill. Driving to the cabin from where we live in the Bay Area didn’t feel far at all. I mean, you pretty much lose sense of time when you’re at the cabin. We came with a “to-do” list & totally forgot about it once we were settled in. Our older boys loved the loft and everything in it from cozy beds, pool table, guitar, music & more games - it was like their own apartment lol. My husband and I loved our room with the comfy king bed and our toddler slept well in the pack-n-play. WiFi ran great and loved binge watching Netflix from the lazy boy type couches! Our toddler absolutely loved sitting on the mini stools under coffee table. Seriously, there is something for everyone at every age here. If I can describe the cabin on how it makes you feel - I’d say the cabin feels like a blanket wrapped around you as you sip coffee out on the deck under twinkling lights, a crackling fire from the fireplace, cookies baking in the oven, a roast slow cooking in a crockpot, cinnamon hot chocolate with marshmallows, a slow morning walk along the lake, a midday nap, fresh mountain air, laughter from all around, and sweet serenity of no city sounds - peace & quiet within giant trees. You can feel the good energy leftover from families who have stayed at the cabin. Hopefully, the memories our family made during our stay is as potent as those who’ve stayed here before us - this cabin makes you want to come back. And, we will! Can’t wait to experience spring or summer here. Thank you, Lakewood cabin. Mouna, how gracious you are. From my family to yours. Thank you again.

“Best Outdoor Family Time Ever!”
Mouna’s vacation cabin is spacious with every accommodation we needed plus more! With all the big trees it was indeed cool indoors so we were always comfortable to hang out, sleep, and cook in the cabin. So many beautiful and mystical tributes to the mighty bear in the form of figurines, quilts, paintings, etc.! The location was perfect as it was a 3 minute walk to the private lake and then a 45 minute drive down a single highway (we couldn’t get lost going anywhere really) to Alpine Lake in the high sierras where we rented a motor boat and then SUP’s to explore around the banks of the lake. Friendly regulars and local teens instructed our boys how to find the best rock jumping locations and they rock jumped along the way. Large slabs of granite and Alpine tree groves and forests stood every direction we looked. We ate Poke Nachos and Buddha bowls at the Alpine Lodge restaurant! My 11 year old brought his fishing pole and fished at Alpine and the local lake. There were lots of adults and kids with fishing poles everywhere we went. When we got back to the cabin, we had a family tournament of pool (billiards not swimming pool) and chess, then a family movie on Netflix! the Chinese restaurant in Arnold was really tasty and healthy. It was the only place we visited without any bear regalia. If I’d known, I’d have gifted them with a little figurine or such! Ironically with so many bear idols and references across this area, we didn’t manage to encounter a single bear, much to my husband’s dismay, even when we braved the road at 10pm on foot to watch the meteor showers at the local lake. But most rational people would consider this a good thing lol. We spent 3 nights and 4 days and had a MAGICAL time there. Mouna was available via text the whole time. She was so helpful with everything!

“ best cabin trip”
Arnold CA is not far from the city but you feel like you been transported to another area completely!!
The big woods surrounding the cabin , the small winding roads between the forest and a change of air feels like you traveled very far.
The cabin has all the needed amenities to stay comfortably and entertained! From a pool table, to board games, Netflix and a wood burning chimney.
There are nice trails close by and a beautiful lagoon at walking distance.
The small charming little towns around offer all you need for entertainment and food.
I will try to go very soon again and would recommend to all my friends and family.

“Great stay / would highly recommend ”
We (a family of three) spent a couple of nights at this home to get some snow play in. The house is in a good location, in good condition and had everything we needed in it. And the owners were extremely easy to work with throughout the process. We would definitely stay again.

“Awesome place for a family vacation”
Nestled in the woods of Arnold, with a private lake nearby, this cabin offers easy access to swimming, kayaking and an abundance of hiking trails. The interior of the cabin offers plenty of space to spread out, while providing all the creature comforts one could ask for. The pool table in the upstairs playroom/loft is a huge added bonus! And the huge wooden deck offers the opportunity to relax in the evening after a long day of activities. There is even a hammock in the back. Overall, it was the perfect “homebase” for our family of 4, plus our dog, to spend an active yet relaxing vacation week in Arnold and the surrounding area. And to
it off, Mouna was great, easily reachable by text to answer our questions. We look forward to our next stay there!

“Water fun everyday!! ”
We came in from the East Bay looking for some swim time for our two small families + water dog. The Lakewood Cabin is nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills with a lovely deck for bbqing, dining & socializing. There’s a hammock hanging in the back, perfect for secret outdoor naps (shh, don’t tell your kids); this area also includes a campfire nook w/built in benches. They won’t notice you’re even gone because upstairs is super kid friendly with a pool table, TV, futons, balcony & toy corner. Bring a puzzle to leave behind. Every morning after breakfast we loaded our backpack-beach chairs & walked down to the lake where the kids & the dog could swim. Mouna stayed in communication throughout our stay, making sure we were set for our first visit. The Lakewood Cabin is a place I look forward to returning.

“Wonderful house and even more wonderful hosts! ”
We stayed here with 3 moms and 4 kids for 3 nights. It was a wonderful house. Often, even some of the nicer houses aren't well taken care of or have things that don't work or are falling apart or just really old and kind of gross. That is not the case here. The house is clean and obviously loved. Everything was well care for. The hosts went out of their ways to be accessible to me via messenger and were helpful with everything from suggestions to assistance with accessing movies for the kids. I can't say enough wonderful things about the host and the house. We will be back :)

“outstanding decor, supplies & location!”
This two bedroom cabin is decorated in such a cozy and cute way. Better yet, you can find every pot or pan you might need in their well supplied kitchen, plus supplied for making tea/coffee, buttering your toast, oil for a stir fry, or even sprinkles for your cookies! And the owner was so nice and willing to answer my every question! I love the town of Arnold and could find easily anything else i needed in its stores. You can walk to the lake from this cabin or have a snowball fight in winter! Skiing is 30 minutes away in Bear Valley. Beds were comfortable and the billiard table great fun!

Thank you for opening up your cabin to us - it was perfect for our anniversary weekend. We look forward to visiting again!

We are working parents of two boys living in the bay area. Since the first time we visited Arnold, we fell in love with the mountain life, Arnold and the Lakemont Pines community. We enjoyed summer days at the lake and hiking nearby trails. We then decided to make a plan to get our own corner in the woods. We finally purchased the Lakewood Cabin in 2019, right at the start of the thanksgiving break. We spent our first thanksgiving there and woke up to 3 feet of snow. It was magical! We are excited to share our cabin and hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do.
