Nestled amongst the pines and cedars of the Sierras, our mountain home is the perfect place for a vacation any time of the year. Located in Sugar Pine, California, off Sonora Pass (Hwy 108), it is minutes from the historical gold rush communities of Sonora, Jamestown, Columbia, and Twain Harte. Beautiful Pinecrest Lake and the Dodge Ridge Ski Resort are just a short drive away, and Yosemite is close enough for a day-trip.

Our cabin is a spacious tri-level home located on a quiet cul de sac amid hundred foot firs, pines and cedars. During the summer, guests have access to Sugar Pine Lake, a private lake that is only a three minute walk from the cabin. The lake has a swimming beach, dive platform and fishing areas. Sugar Pine Cabin is also within a short drive to restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, casinos, parks, rivers and lakes. Don't want to venture out? The cabin has a stocked kitchen, a large library of books, hundreds of DVDs, dozens of board games and a very popular arcade.

Our goal is to provide discriminating travelers with a clean, comfortable retreat in which to reside while they ski, hike, swim, boat, fish, or simply relax. We have taken great care to create an inviting getaway for our guests. We are proud of our family-oriented vacation cabin and invite you to stay at Sugar Pine Cabin.

Great stay
The place was perfect for our girls trip. The beds were very comfortable and the place had everything you needed. The private lake was great and walking distance from the cabin. We really enjoyed lunch out on the deck and the use of the grill. The owner was also very communicative from the begging.

A place to make amazing summer memories!!!
We had such a great time at the cabin. I brought my grandkids and was able to make summer memories they won’t forget. The house was clean the beds were comfy and the lake was beautiful. Eric was very responsive and friendly and we plan on booking again for a family reunion next summer. Thank you Eric for letting us enjoy you home!!!!

Great communication from owner. Top quality house and large area for family dinners the bedrooms and the Arcade made this a PERFECT place for our family. The kids spent most of their time playing games and then having a slumber party in the loft. I highly recommend!

Family Fun
We had such a great time staying at Sugarpine Cabin. Eric, the property owner, was great from start to finish and always available when we had questions about the cabin and the area. The kids all loved the game room. I booked the cabin with the 4 teenagers in mind, but it was the 3 year olds who couldn't get enough of the video games and air hocky table. The access and proximity to the lake was amazing. We were there every day swimming and fishing. We took the kids to Pinecrest one day thinking the teens would like the busier lake but they all just wanted to get back to the quiet private lake and the cabin. We can't wait to go again, and will stay at Sugarpine Cabin fir sure!

Perfect Multi-Family Getaway
From requesting to book all the way until post check out communication, we were treated with hospitality and care. Family vacations take planning and we all look forward to them and Eric ensured an easy and comfortable stay. The cabin was easy to find, conveniently located, spacious, and fun. The different areas allowed people to have space, while also offering family gathering spaces for eating together and playing games. Awesome for young-ish family
We went with our 6 and 10 year old and had a blast. It started with Eric’s friendly and detailed messages about the logistics of checking in and all aspects of the cabin. We arrived to a clean and welcoming cabin in the woods that we and the kids immediately fell right at home in. As the posting notes, there is a basement arcade including retro video games, an air hockey table and a coin-op claw machine, which for us were the highlight of the place given the delight it brought to the kids. A perfect respite after a day in the snow just a few minutes north by car (in winter of course) or a reward after a day of school or good behavior for the kids. In short, we had an absolute blast here just hanging out. There is a small lake nearby that we walked to...too cold to enjoy when we were there but looks fun when weather is warmer and people are out. Again, throughout, Eric was the most welcoming, coolest and most responsive of hosts throughout. Would definitely come back for a stay (provided you don’t outcompete us)!

Perfect!
Sugar Pine Cabin was perfect!! We enjoyed our stay. The pictures of this cabin really don’t show how roomy it is. We had ten in our group and there was plenty of space for us all to hang out and not feel like we were on top of one another. The cabin was super clean and everything we needed as far as linens and kitchen utensils/gadgets were provided. The game closet was a plus! Games and puzzles galore. And the game room... well, we didn’t see our kids for hours. The adults disappeared down there for quite some time as well. It was all around great!! The cabin is located in a great spot. We took walks, visited the community lake (I imagine it’s super fun in the summer), walked to the Sugar Shack up the road, and talked with some very friendly neighbors. We did take our kids to Leland Snow Park for a day. It was about a 35min drive up 108. It was great!! We hope to be back soon!

This house was so amazing, I've never stayed at anyone's house without the owner being there for a weekend. This house was close to items to do with family. This was so stocked with items we didn't need to bring. Our family had the greatest time doing things together and bonding with one another. We would to stay at this house again.

My wife and I have visited the Sonora Pass area since childhood. We frequently rented cabins in the Mi Wuk and Twain Harte area until we bought our own. We hope you will love this place as much as we do.

This cabin is our second home. It is our only real estate investment outside the home we live in and it is not operated by a property management company. As such, we are constantly making improvements and have an interest in keeping the cabin in excellent condition. We hope that you will also find our place to be appealing and care for it as if it is your second home. This is a wonderful place for family reunions, a ski weekend getaway, or a place to spend a week in the summer time. If you are looking for a place to hold a frat party in, this is the wrong cabin. However, if you are looking for a place to return year after year to make memories with friends and family, you will find that Sugar Pine Cabin is one of the best.

Check in and out times may be flexible but only if another party is not scheduled to arrive or depart on the same date and the cleaners are not scheduled to be there during that time. The cleaning service needs the five hour window to turn the cabin around. Please make arrangements with us prior to your arrival so that we may schedule the cleaning for the adjusted hours. And no, we do not charge you for them.

Cancellation Policy
I have a very liberal cancellation policy with a full refund available at 15 days or more from the scheduled arrival date. 50% of the payment is returned if cancelled between 8 and 14 days from the scheduled arrival date. If cancelled less than 8 days but more than one day, the cancelling party will receive the cleaning fee only.
