Our 3 bed, 2 bath home is walking distance to the beach! In just under a half mile, you'll be at one of the many public beach accesses in Oak Island. Our home is a wonderful place for your beach vacation! Home features a large screened in porch with table and chairs to enjoy the sea breeze. Close proximity to everything you need... grocery, restaurants, Middleton Park with playground, splash park, basketball, and pickle ball courts. Located a short drive to the town of cute town of Southport.Steps to the Sea is our home away from home where we spend a large part of our family time. The living space has an open floor plan with stocked kitchen, dining, and living area. Relax on the front porch or the side screened porch with coffee. Entire home is LVP and tile.

The living room has a Roku SMART TV and complimentary Wifi and a selection of movies and board games. The house does not have cable but all TVs are equipped with Roku for you to log into any streaming services you may have.

Primary bedroom has a king bed and private bathroom with large tiled shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has two full size beds. The two secondary bedrooms share a full hall bathroom with tub and shower combination. All beds have linens. Beach towels are not provided.

The real star of the island is the beach itself. What's to love about OKI: 10 miles of uncrowded beach, 60 public access points, fishing piers, marinas, public boat ramps. Parks and putt putt, small town feel. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families with kids. No matter the time of the year, your time spent at the beach will be memorable.

Two dedicated work spaces allow working from home.

In case of a national pandemic/ state wide shut downs/ warnings and weather related advisory please obtain travel insurance in case a cancellation is needed past all the acceptable time frames for it.

“Girls Beach Vacation”

The house was great and included all the amenities we needed. It was also beautiful! There was plenty of parking at the beach and it was only a quick bike ride or walk away. The owners were extremely nice and very easy to work with. We cant wait to return next year!

Carly’s place was as described and as it looks in photos. The house still had it’s new building smell. Kitchen was fully stocked and very user friendly. Beds were super comfortable and bathrooms beautiful. Hosts were super responsive with any questions. The house is a short walk to the beach. If it had been warmer I would have made use of the porches too, however the sun just made an appearance on our last day. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful new house, perfectly clean, with everything needed. I’d been excited to sit on the screened in deck with a book and a glass of wine, but the house backs up to a pretty busy road and the traffic noise kept me from sitting out there long. But if that’s not really your thing and you’re going to be out and about anyway, then this won’t bother you at all. Easy straight walk to the beach, 10 mins if you’re carrying stuff to the beach (quicker if not.) Communication, check in, and check out were all super easy. Thank you!

The house is great. There is everything there that you need for a great vacation - movies, games, amenities, beach gear, etc. Short 5 minute walk to beach access, but we enjoyed getting in the car and parking near Oak island lighthouse on the north end or the Point on the south end.

Perfect get away home for a family with kids. Carly and Christopher literally thought of everything small kids would need. The kitchen was the most equipped I’ve ever had to use and I love to cook. There was nothing I needed that wasn’t there! That screened in porch was perfect for family meal and get together. Carly was super responsive, for example we noticed a wasp nest under the deck, immediately the exterminator was sent, we were super impressed ! She really is a super host. Another plus about this awesome home is You can literally walk to the beach. All beach items also available, sturdy beach chairs and beach toys. So many cozy throws and blankets ! We couldn’t ask for a better place to host our family. We will be back, for sure! Thank you Carly and Christopher. We filled your home with lots of laughs, made some new memories, and most importantly filled it with lots LOVE.

Our trip was the best! This was our first time to Oak Island and it felt so welcoming. We loved our daily walks to the beach, dog friendly atmosphere, and the amazing seafood. House Rules

I ask that you treat my home with the same respect that you do your own. Must be 25 years old to rent. Please close and lock all windows and doors when you leave the house.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the house, porch, under the house. Must be limited to the end of the driveway by street. If it is found that smoking took place, or there is a residual odor of tobacco there will be a $250.00 charge for odor remediation.
This house is up on stilts, you must climb a flight of stairs to reach front door.
No climbing or sitting on the railings.
We do not allow third party reservations.
This home only sleeps 7, no additional guests.
Please respect a courtesy quiet hour at 11 pm for our neighbors.
Please no dogs on the furniture or beds. If you crate your dog at home when you leave the house, please do the same here.
Please no wet towels or bathing suits on the furniture or beds. There are hooks in each bedroom and outdoors to hang wet items.
Rinse off all sand prior to entering the house. There is an outdoor shower and hose.
Return everything to where you found it at check-in, prior to your departure
Please bring your own beach towels.
Check-in is anytime after 4:00 PM, Check out is 10:00 AM
The Middleton bridge is close by, so you may hear the occasional truck or trailer.

Payment Policy

Initial Payment of $250 at time of reservation. Remainder of reservation total is due 45 days prior to check-in.

Damage Deposit Policy

As a security deposit alternative, houfyProtect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel at least 45 days before arrival for full refund. Cancel at least 30 days before arrival for full refund minus $250 initial fee.

Dogs permitted (limit of 2) with one time fee of $100. Washer and dryer is available for use during your stay. Hand soap and dish soap are provided. Some paper towels, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent/packs and toilet paper provided to get you started, but you may need more during your stay.
