It’s a small, quiet place perfect for a peaceful getaway. Don’t expect too much right close by as far as amenities (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) but things weren’t terribly far and she had recommendations for where we could go for whatever we needed. The host was very responsive and we had a great time

“Wonderfully Relaxing Time out on the Bay!”
What a wonderful weekend experience we had at the cottage! Great space with plenty of rooms to accommodate my family. Full kitchen with many amenities made it easy for us to share meal times together around the table. The kids loved when we went out with the kayaks and pedal boat. The views both from the house, and from the bay were beautiful! Late nights around the campfire making smores and enjoying the sunset was a great way to end our evenings.
Check-in and Check out were simple, with great communication from Christie. She gave us plenty of nearby recommended areas to explore in town, including a beach for the kids to swim!
Highly recommend! Would definitely rent from here again! Thanks Christie!

We were very pleased with our accomodations. It was as described and represented in the pictures. The place was comfortable and very quiet. There were plenty of towels and shampoos, body wash, etc. We didn't cook there, but there were more than enough dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc to get the job done comfortably. You can tell Christie takes pride in her place. It was a good location to explore the Port Bay area as well as Fair Haven.

We had a lot of fun at Christies place with the family. Morning walks and kayaking was probably the highlight. Nothing like relaxing by the fire in the evening or going to the beach during the day. The place itself was very clean and neat. We definitely felt in love with the location, plenty of wildlife to observe and lots to do around as well if you are looking for it. For us it was more about lazy mornings and stargazing nights. We will definitely be planning another trip next year and if possible would definitely book with Christy again.

From the time we got there in the dark, with no lit pathway to the door on a steep hill, we opened the door, the mildew-type smell was overwhelming. Spent our stay miserable with allergies acting up from inside the home. It was a heat wave so we couldn’t even air it out. Plenty of every day supplies, which was nice, to include extra outdoor things and at home feeling with kitchen/bathroom supplies. There were plenty of Cobwebs and grime on doors where hands touch to open/close. The bunk beds squeaked all night long with the slightest movement. Our kids opt We reached to the hosts to let them know of smell, they said they were there that day and couldn’t tell. But, I believe nose blind to it. Nice enough people, but the property needs a true deep clean and lighting outside, in my opinion. The smell truly overwhelmed our stay, there was no escaping it. We tried to find other accommodations but couldn’t due to timing. I personally wouldn’t stay here again or recommended my friends/family.

Response:I am so disappointed to hear that our place did not meet your expectations. We take pride in people enjoying our place like we do, ensure it is properly cleaned between stays and deep cleans are done on a monthly basis. There are 2 dehumidifiers in the basement to help with the humidity. There are solar lights leading down to the property from the parking area as well as lights on the house that illuminate the entrances and backyard. We never want guests to be unhappy which is why I asked you to follow up, but I didn't hear from you again until the last day when you requested a late check-out that I was unable to offer. Thanks for your feedback.
