The DOME AT MESA VERDE is unlike any other stay you have experienced! We have a very SPECIAL SPOT on our ancient 200-acre parcel that provides you with PEACE and QUIET and INCREDIBLE VIEWS. However, it is not just the LOCATION. The Dome is outfitted for COMFORT and is very accommodating. Minutes from Mesa Verde National Park the land was once occupied by the ancient Anasazi! With big sky views and no immediate neighbors, you are transported back in time (despite good cell service and WiFi internet) to a place of wide-open spaces, tranquil hiking, sweeping views and incredible solitude. This is a place to come and breathe, listen, recharge, sweat in the Sauna, cook on the wood fired grill, hang by the fire pit and observe the incredible starry-night sky!
Only 5 miles from Cortez and 1 mile from the National Park, we are close to everything! BUT - being located down a mile-long driveway, through 2 gates, with no immediate neighbors provides you with an experience of peace and tranquility that is almost impossible to find in today's hustle and bustle world!
Upon arriving to this incredible property, I'm still awestruck at the land's natural beauty. As you scan the horizon around the dome, the big sky unfolds around you, revealing the Mesa and Point Lookout gleaming in the sun and yet because of your vantage there is little to no evidence of human interference. That means at sunset the insane color array enveloping the silhouette of the sacred Ute Mountain appears without obstruction from distant houses or city lights.
The DOME is a place of peace and a dream that we have nurtured and realized!
As you enter the unique structure, you find the custom kitchen with butcherblock counter, artistic Santa Fe cabinet, herringbone tiles and bar seating for 6. A farm sink, vintage propane stovetop, oven and fridge/freezer add to the aesthetic and comfort of your stay. There is also a full coffee/tea station and a really great vibe!
You'll find all things needed to cook an extensive meal or enjoy a glass of wine in stemless crystal or prep a Western omelet on the cast-iron propane cooktop. We have a French press for coffee, a water boiler for tea, along with other options like a Melita for pour-over + traditional drip coffee machine, as well as an assortment of teas, and organic coffee beans.
The living room has 2 comfy pull-out couches, modern lighting, 3 viewing windows of the Sacred Ute Mountain, a big screen TV with Roku.
The Loft upstairs requires that you climb LADDER to access the upstairs bedroom which comes with a very comfy KING BED and a cozy viewing skylight for nighttime stargazing right from bed!
Our property is one of the last remaining large acreage parcels in the Mesa Verde National Park area.
The driveway is over a mile long and requires only two-wheel drive. You will pull up to the parking area and find ample parking spaces and space to turn around trailers.
Access to the property is through keyed entry.
The Dome @Ranchatmesaverde is an off-grid custom building with incredible views of Mesa Verde National Park, La Plata Mountains, Ute Mountain, Monticello range, and even the Wilsons near Telluride.
You can hike, bike or ride from here to many incredible spots just nearby, including to the base of Mesa Verde. Not to mention, we have a private gate to Phil's world - the mountain biking mecca!
This is an original parcel that predates the highway and is loaded with artifacts and evidence of the wild west; so, make sure to keep your eyes peeled when adventuring around the property!
Pet the horses, hike to the canyons behind us, and explore to your hearts content. Sunset strolls are highly recommended! We have detailed knowledge of the vast wilderness surrounding our spot!

We live nearby on the property and are here to serve and to help on your vacation.
We are available by Airbnb message and cell phone during the hours of 8am to 9pm. We live in a house that is obscured by the trees but is nearby to the south on the property. Therefore, we are very happy to help with anything that you might need!

The dome has a KING BED, QUEEN and SINGLE bed: (we also have floor mattresses that we can deliver upon request)
KING BED: A very comfortable KING BED is in the LOFT AREA. It is important to note that to reach the loft area you have to climb a LADDER.
PULLOUT QUEEN -- memory foam queen bed is downstairs in front of the big screen TV. Super comfortable bed!
PULLOUT SINGLE -- single bed sits near the big screen TV as well.
Floor mattresses and baby crib by request!
We live in a separate house to the south on the property.
