Note: There is a steep and long driveway. During winter, AWD / 4x4 / snow chains required.

This is a wonderful Airbnb! The driveway is very narrow so be prepared if you have larger vehicles. The house is spacious and accommodating. The heat/air conditioning wasn't working while we were there and staying there in the summer months may get very warm inside. The hosts response time was excellent and check-in/check-out was a breeze.

We apologize for not telling you about them before, and hope you weren't too hot! The summer sunrise streaming into the main room is beautiful, and can get toasty later in the morning. The sunshades combined with our ceiling fans are incredibly effective at keeping the house cool in summer months. Thanks so much for letting us know about your experience. This place had a good location for getting to hiking, driving to the wineries and downtown murphys, and the hot tub was a nice feature also. The place was a bit bare- very little in the pantry for guests to use, no TV in the main living area, and short on towels for a place with a hot tub. The upstairs area is one big room where one of the bedrooms, ping pong, and TV area located. It's not the best set up if someone wants to watch a movie while the others sleeping in that area may want to go to sleep. You also have to carry your own trash down the mountain. I suspect there is no trash service to Arnold, but it would have been nice to read that in the review prior to renting for the weekend. Overall, the kitchen is big and the place was clean for a reasonable price. It's just a little quirky.

We pride ourselves in being very communicative and responsive to our guests needs at Casa Arnold. Our kitchen is much more stocked than most AirBNB kitchens, providing herbs, oils, teas and coffee. There was also more salt in the closet - sorry to hear that it was low and you didn't let us know. The listing states clearly that there are three bedrooms (the upstairs area considered one room.) You are correct, there is no trash pick up in the rural Arnold area. Sorry to hear you were surprised by this. We will be sure to state more prominently in the listing that guests are responsible for trash removal. Thanks for the heads up, and for staying with us!

We spend the beginning half of our kids spring break in Casa Arnold in early April. We traveled with another family with elementary-age children and the cabin had so many activities to keep the kiddos busy! From arcade games, board games, books, toys and even a ping pong table! the kids loved it and there was never a moment where they felt bored. Having all the games/activities came in handy for one of the rainy/snowy days! The cabin has everything you need and a fully stocked kitchen with every kitchen tool you need to whip up home meal. Our first day we were able to use the grill for bbq! also the jacuzzi was a nice touch after a long day. Also if you’re looking for to get out and enjoy the wilderness Big Trees State park is less then 10 minutes away! We really enjoyed our stay and hoping to come back. Katherine was a amazing and thoughtful host! I left my work laptop charger at the cabin and she was gracious enough to send it back! How thoughtful! You’ll definitely would want to check out Casa Arnold!

My wife and I came up for a few days at Katerina's cabin and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was pretty close to Highway 4 and check-in was easy. It is a couple minute drive from a supermarket (although we got all the groceries we needed beforehand elsewhere) and a couple restaurants. The cabin itself is equipped with a ton of things to do, more than I've ever seen at any other place. The cabin has a bunch of DVDs, a smart TV, a turntable with some records, 2 arcade cabinets, a hot tub and a ping pong table. The upstairs was very spacious with a bathroom and felt like it's own place. The kitchen is equipped with a lot of cooking machines, plates, glasses and toaster oven. Highly recommend this place and would stay again!

Sanctuary is a gem! The house is clean, spacious, and (Website hidden by Airbnb) was perfect for our family getaway and we immediately felt relaxed and at home. While there isn't much snow where the house is located, excellent snowshoeing at Big Trees is just a short 10 minute drive away. Highly recommend!

Yes. As stated, the driveway is very steep but 3-4 cars can fit once you make it up the hill. The house is on a cul de sac so driving in the cul de sac during snow is an option. You have to walk up the hill from there to the house.

House Rules
House rules:

Sometimes the power goes out in the area, especially during inclement weather. We do not refund power outages. There is a diversity of options to heat the house. The wood burning stove downstairs is powerful and can heat the house on its own. The heater upstairs runs on propane. Please be prepared to manage such possible events during your visit.

Please be sure to keep all trash INDOORS (otherwise bears and other animals will enjoy it and make a huge mess.) If you end up with more bags of trash than you’d care to keep indoors, just let us know and we can share information about the free Avery dump. It is just a few minutes down the road. All you need to do is show your rental reservation at the gate.

Be sure to lock your car doors as well. The bears can be very curious when they are hungry and have been known to open car doors if they smell anything delicious inside.

No shoes in the house, please.

Do not rearrange furniture.

Please only eat meals at the dining room table.

Hot tub fits 6 people. Children under the age of 7 not allowed in the hot tub. Detailed guide and rules are shared with guests on the refrigerator and must be followed. If damage is done and rules aren't followed, guests will be charged. We have a security deposit. If you damage the home in any way, you may be charged up to $500.

Guests must wash dishes and run the dishwasher before checking out.

Please place used towels and used bedding on the bathroom floor upon departure.

Washer and dryer are available for guests staying longer than 4 nights.

Absolutely no outside guests and no parties/ events.

Quiet hours are enforced. Please no noise after 10:00pm. We respect the peaceful environment that our neighbors enjoy.
