We love dogs and hope you will travel with your fur baby if possible. Please, no cats or other animals. We now have a one dog maximum, but we can sometimes make an exception with an additional fee. We do not allow dogs under 12 months old. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM AS A DOG CRATE. Response:Katrina, I reached out to you during your stay and after, and did not receive any response from you, which leads me to believe there weren’t any actual problems. I see you filed “an issue” with Airbnb. No idea why. Everyone has a different level of comfort they prefer for a bed and a couch. I’m sorry if our property didn’t meet your expectations. If you read through my 28 five star reviews, you will find numerous compliments on how comfortable the beds are and how comfortable and cozy guests have found the cottage overall. I’ve even had people reach out to me after their stay and ask for the link for the couch. I personally stayed at the property August 30-September 2nd and did a deep clean, which included the washing machine. It does not smell! I know that for a fact. My cleaner is also very detailed and would address any problem like this. The washing machine also isn’t there so you can do all your laundry before you leave. It’s there as a courtesy for towels and swimwear. That’s why it’s a small, stackable washer and dryer. There are 3 frying pans. An egg pan, a 9 inch, and a 12 inch. They are all stacked together. As for the bathroom window, thank you so much for your concern and I’m sorry it was such a worry for your during your stay!! My husband and I are actually both contractors and we know how to care for a window in a shower, which is common in older beach houses. I’m glad you enjoyed the neighborhood, it is truly lovely!

this was one of the best houses me and my fiance have stayed in. there was privacy and it was quiet. very cozy and our host was so sweet and understanding. i would recommend this house and host to anyone!

We love the Outer Banks and like to visit in the off-season when it's not crowded. This was our second trip to the OBX for the New Year holiday and our first trip to Colington Island--about 4-5 miles from the Wright Bros. Memorial. The cottage was beautifully renovated and very comfortable and easy to find. We liked the remote-control-method of regulating the heat--it was super efficient and comfortable. We also liked staying in a real neighborhood with Christmas lights and friendly locals and were lucky to eat dinner at the two excellent island restaurants: The Saltbox (my favorite) and Colington Cafe (my spouse's favorite). We were sorry that the cool coffee shop was closed for the season.
Colington Island is a bit of a drive from the ocean and the various amenities on Rts 158 & 12 --so keep that in mind when you book. But it's probably a lot cheaper than other locations on the beach--like Duck--and very quiet and peaceful on the Sound. Book your stay--you won't regret it!

“Restorative vacation”
This was exactly what we needed. So peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was small but didn't feel like it at all. I appreciated that they don't skimp on the appliances like a large sink, fridge and dish washer. Erin was super kind and communicative. I'm sure we'll be back.

“Great location! ”
Cozy, clean cottage with all the essentials. Our family enjoyed watching the sunset and boats at the private beach. Close to so many attractions, restaurants, shops, public beaches and trails in the OBX. Erin is a gracious and accommodating host and we can’t wait to come back!!

We absolutely loved our stay. Erin was so communicative and flexible. Sail Cove was absolutely what we needed and was in a great mid point of the outer banks so that we could see pretty much the entire outer banks!
Sail cove is tucked away and is very quiet and peaceful.
Check in and check out were a breeze. Extra special thanks for the water, k cups and snacks upon arrival. Our daughter was very excited about those!

“ Charming stay!”
We had a great stay with our dog and 1 year old! This house is conveniently located to nearly anywhere you'd want to visit in OBX. We went to the beaches, lighthouses and national parks. Lots of shopping close by and had a great meal at Kill Devil Hills Grill. We'll be back to explore more 💜

The house was so cute and perfect for a quick getaway. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates and utensils. The appliances were new and spotless. Erin was quick to respond when I had a question. We will definitely go back.

We had a wonderful time visiting the area, and Erin’s place made us feel right at home! We were pleased to have a place , but we were unpleased with how uncomfortable the beds and couch were. Especially when your on vacation and expect to have some sort of comfort. Due to the washing machines being in rough shape, we unfortunately didn't get to wash anything of ours. There is 1 ( 9") frying pan to cook with and no lid. So to cook breakfast, or multiple items, it took a bit.
Location was good, it was quiet and nice people around the house. The pool and playground was nice for our daughter as well.
