Sandy’s Treehouse is truly a one of a kind experience. Right from the beginning of our stay, we knew we found something special. Sandy met us at the entrance, introduced herself, and got us set up and answered any questions. The space itself is so unique and inviting. Everything was clearly labeled and Sandy left notes throughout the house for guests to reference. Do not pass up a chance to stay at this location, it is an absolute gem.

I've stayed at many Airbnbs over the past few years, and Sandy's treehouse is the best. The house itself has many floors full of interesting items and furniture, the surroundings are ideal for exploration or relaxation, and Sandy herself is a top tier host. Thanks to all these positives, a few friends and I had an unforgettable weekend at the treehouse!

Sandy’s house is wonderful, there are so many special touches and decorations that make it unique! The beds are so comfy, there are plenty of space for lounging, and the hot tub is *incredible* after a day of skiing. She is incredibly responsive if you have any issues at all, I am so so impressed. I can’t recommend Sandy’s treehouse anymore highly!! I can’t wait to stay again.

My friends and I came here for a ski trip and it had a great cabin-in-the-woods feel. The hot tub is particularly nice after skiing all day. It was about a 25 minute drive from Smuggler's Notch. The hospitality was top notch. I strongly recommend bringing an All Wheel Drive vehicle! Due to a recent blanket of snow, one friend had to try about 10 times to get his sedan up the driveway but he did finally make it.

Sandy’s Treehouse is a truly unique and beautiful home in a spectacular location. It was also totally private and out of the way. I was wowed by just how picturesque the setting was. I have nothing but positive things to say about the house, the location, and about sandy herself, who was amazing. My husband and I both loved it. I would highly recommend

Executive Summary: House is accurately portrayed on AirBnB House is exceptionally clean Experience exceeded our expectations Long winded self aggrandizing review: I love Vermont. I love the mountain meadows and quirky and traditional barns. I love the fact that Vermont is bougie and hippy at the same time. The Treehouse perfectly encompasses Vermont for me. My wife I sought a quiet hideaway from the world to celebrate our 25th anniversary. This was the perfect property. We did not see another person, other than Sandy at check-in, the entire time we were at the house. Car sounds replaced with the sound of the running brook five stories below. We intentionally wanted to space ourselves from the crowd, but still wanted to visit on our terms. So the 20-25 minute drive to Stowe was perfect, in for dinner and then back to our canopy hide away. You are not walking to a convenience store from here, for me that is the charm. The house is hidden away in the mountains, among a twisting maze of Vermont dirt roads (Waze brought us directly there, but you will not accidentally stumble upon it) which was a huge draw for us. I drew the sense that the house is a passion project for Sandy. It is not simply a rental property, it has her touches (and post-its) through out. If you know dandelions are weeds, but a mountain meadow filled with them is still pretty; if you find a red barn behind a blooming forsythia charming; if you love Vermont; you will love staying here.

We absolutely loved staying at the Treehouse! First off, Sandy's hospitality is exceptional. She provided everything we needed for a comfortable and welcoming stay for the weekend. The house was sparkling clean and very organized with everything we needed laid out. She was very fast to respond to any questions before our stay and very detailed with information for check-in, our stay, and check out. She provided insights for the area and great recommendations for skiing! We loved staying here for our ski weekend and plan to stay again the next time we want to ski in northern Vermont! It is a great location and a beautiful property! If you have the chance to stay here, I would absolutely book it in a heartbeat!

Suitability

Child friendly
Because of the location of the house (on a cliff) and the open layout inside, the house is really not suitable for very young children to be let loose in. We have had older children there, however, who loved the place and the miles of trails to explore! Before you book, let's talk and we can go over the details. Thanks!

Getting around

We are three miles from the village of Johnson, down a dirt road, in the hills. In the winter you will definitely want an awd or 4wd car, preferably with good snow tires. Though we plow as needed, it is Vermont, which is one reason every season is wonderful!

Check In: Flexible
We have a keyless entry to the house and guests will be given the code when they arrive. I try to meet guests over there at the house to give them a brief rundown as to how the house 'works', generator, hot tub, where the trails start, things like that. We live about 1/2 mile down the road so are accessible for any questions or issues that arise.

Important! ****BEFORE sending a Booking Request, please send me a note with a little information about your group, accurate number of guests , what brings you to Vermont, and that you have read and understand the house rules (no pets, no smoking, no events, adults only) it sure will speed up the booking process! Additionally, within 48 hours of booking, we require that you complete and return our Vermont Treehouse Short Term Rental Agreement, which just reiterates the above. Booking is not 'confirmed' without it. Read it, fill it out, and initial where applicable, sign and email to us with a copy of the primary renter's photo i.d.. Thank you so much, looking forward to having you here! If you love the serenity of the outdoors and all it offers, as we do, you will love it here! Payment Policy
We don't take credit cards, just good old checks, snail mailed to us. So much for being up to date on technology! ( : Balance must be paid at least 30 days in advance of your stay. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Refundable Damage Deposit
Security deposit is for excessive cleaning, damage, over and above normal usage. This will be refunded to you within 14 days if there is none of the above. If you smoke in the house, or bring a pet, you will be asked to leave and your deposit will not be refunded.
Notes
Vermont roads in the winter can be tricky in the mountains! Be sure you have an all- wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle with good winter tires. We plow as needed, but we are up in the hills and want you to be able to make it here safely in the winter season! This is a non smoking property, inside and out. No pets, no exceptions, due to family allergy. Because of the unique layout of the house and property (five levels of awesomeness, on a steep cliff) this house is really not suitable for young children. Important notes: Please read the House Rules before requesting to book. Locals MUST communicate with us before booking. Smoking in The Treehouse will result in a loss of the entire Security Deposit. Signed Short Term Rental Agreement and photo i.d. required upon booking, agreeing to the House Rules. Additional liability waiver required for those with children under 18. Thanks, hope to see you soon! Sandy
