Welcome to Rich Summit View Cabin, a charming log cabin nestled in the mountains of Boone, NC. This peaceful getaway invites you to unwind and soak in the stunning mountain views from the hot tub or embark on a hike straight from the front door. With fiber optic Wi-Fi installed since June 2020, it's perfect for both adventure and relaxation.

Entertainment:

Enjoy our new flat-screen smart TV above the fireplace, where you can easily log into Netflix and other accounts. The TV fits perfectly into the custom-built niche and offers a new sound bar for enhanced audio. We’ve also upgraded to a blender (added in Oct 2023), perfect for smoothies or margaritas!



Dining & Living: The large rustic dining table seats 8 and doubles as a spot for board games or family meals. Cozy up to the new gas fireplace insert, featuring safety upgrades and an easy-to-use on/off switch shaped like a little log. The living room is equipped with HDTV, cable, and a DVD player, as well as a selection of board games, DVDs, and toys for kids.



Comfort:

Both bedrooms feature Serta Perfect Queen beds, with quilted toppers for added comfort. The "Bear" bedroom has direct view to the hot tub and boasts stunning sunrise views over Rich Mountain. Extra blankets and pillows are provided in each room, ideal for chilly winter nights. A washer and dryer ensure you can pack light for your stay.

Hot Tub & Deck:

During the warmer months we love to eat all meals on the deck. Some times in the rocking chairs on the front and others on the side at the table. During Winter, grab a hot chocolate or cider and cozy up to the gas fireplace – or step outside and luxuriate in the four-person HOT TUB! Featuring soothing jets, headrest and LED lights in multiple colors to suit your every mood. Wonderful privacy facing Rich Mountain at sunset. Especially invigorating in the cold night air, hot water bubbling and steam rising and snow falling all round....



Trails & Nature:

Explore miles of hiking trails that begin right outside the cabin. If you're into winter sports, skiing, snow tubing, and kayaking are all close by, with gear rental and adventure options available locally.



Pet-Friendly:

Dogs are welcome (with approval)! There’s a $75 fee for the first dog and $15 for an additional one, which goes toward the deeper cleaning required after pet stays. Please note dogs are the only animals allowed due to owner allergies. Higher pet fees with stays over 14 days.



Winter Access Tips:

Vehicle Requirements: Winter can bring steep, curvy roads, and snow is common at our 4,100-foot elevation. If you're visiting in winter, 4-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) is a must, and tire chains are required in case of ice or snow. Be sure to inquire before booking to confirm your vehicle is suitable for mountain driving.



Road Etiquette:

Our roads are gravel, but wider than many mountain paths. Courtesy is key: cars heading uphill have the right of way to maintain momentum, so if you're coming downhill, please pull off in wide spots.



Local Amenities:

We’re located near several towns for dining and shopping, with the Valley Grocery just 5 minutes away. For larger grocery runs, Food Lion is 13 minutes away, Ingles is 15 minutes away, and Publix is 23 minutes away. Cabin sits on 1.24 acres, but the views stretch for miles. Hiking trails begin right at the front door to Rich Mountain and surrounding area.



Also available are: skiing, snow tubing, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, and restaurants. The smaller Valley Grocery is 5 minutes away – a larger Food Lion grocery store is 13 minutes away in Mountain city or Ingles Grocery is 15 minutes and Publix 23 minutes away.
