Relax at our modern-rustic mountain house situated in a small, quiet neighborhood on top of Tahoe Mountain and Angora Ridge.
Enjoy panoramic forest and mountain views from the house and back deck. Stunning hiking and mountain biking trails are right out the door, no car ride needed. Hike to Fallen Leaf Lake (1 mile) or Angora Lakes (3.5 miles). The area is peaceful and secluded, yet shops and restaurants at the ‘Y’ are only a ten-minute drive away.
Tahoe Mountain Retreat is situated in a grove of old growth pines and firs in a small, quiet residential neighborhood overlooking Tahoe Mountain itself. The house is a newly remodeled, modern-rustic mountain house, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Wall to wall oak floors, real stone hearths, and stone tile compliment the surrounding forest.

The large living room is full of windows to take in views of Tahoe Mountain and Monument Peak. The living room has two areas, one for enjoying a movie together and another for enjoying a book or a board game by the fire. Relax or enjoy a meal on the back deck with panoramic forest and mountain views

Prepare your favorite meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and enjoy them with family and friends around our large rustic dining table. If cooking is not your thing, just drive 4 miles to the ‘Y’ for a variety of restaurants.

The primary bedroom with a king bed and en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub is upstairs. If you just cannot get away from work, there is an office nook with inspiring views. Two additional bedrooms and a full bathroom can also be found upstairs. There is another bedroom and full bathroom on the ground floor.

From the house, Heavenly (10 miles away) and Sierra at Tahoe (14 miles away) are the closest ski areas. Emerald Bay is a scenic 9 mile drive. Fallen Leaf lake is only a mile away, and Angora Lakes a 4 mile drive (accessible in summer).

This is not a party rental house; it is ideal for families or those looking to enjoy a fun relaxing getaway. We are friends with our year round neighbors and it is imperative that our renters treat them with respect.

This is our second home and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

House Rules

-We have a rental agreement that details house and county rules. We require this to be agreed to before your booking is confirmed, but brief highlights:

-No Pets or animals of any kind (son has severe allergies)
-No Smoking anywhere, inside or out.
-Parking on driveway only. 4 cars max
-El Dorado County quiet hours are 10pm to 8am
-Max 8 guests over 5 years old unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

If you need to bring animals, smoke, travel in a convoy, have more than 8 guests, etc please just book some other house.

If any of the house rules or county vacation rental ordinance rules are broken, guest will be in breach of the agreement and responsible for all damage, liability, fines, fees or penalties imposed and guest and others will likely be required to immediately leave the property.

Payment by Venmo or Paypal, required to receive door lock code.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel up to 14 days before arrival. Less than 14 days prior to your arrival, we will refund up to the amount of a replacement booking, if we are able to secure one.

Notes

El Dorado County collects 14% rental tax on all rents collected for vacation homes, so we collect 14% tax on all reservations, payable through Airbnb at time of booking. A driveway and doorbell camera are used to protect the property. The minimum age to rent our home is 24 years old with valid ID. Due to allergies, animals of any kind are not allowed without prior written approval.
