This recently renovated cabin is located high in the Blue Ridge mountains at around 3,000 feet elevation. It is in the same area as the Shenandoah National Forest and this property borders the park land. You will not see another human being for a half mile in any direction, but you'll see plenty of deer, bear and wildlife! Inside the cabin, you'll find spacious living areas, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, fast Starlink internet, and large HD smart TVs.

When you look up "remote getaway" in the dictionary, there's a picture of this cabin! :-) Come to rest, relax, have fun and take pleasure in nature's finest wonders. Leave business, nagging email and your hectic work schedule behind for something quiet, peaceful and relaxing!

We've recently worked on filling out the beautiful outdoor area beside the cabin with a new charcoal grill and firepit. This yard area has beautiful views of nature.

This cabin is located "up Tanner's Ridge" as the locals say. In the pictures, you'll see two pictures showing the beautiful overlooks and mountains that you see as you drive to and from the cabin. You'll want to stop and get your own pictures on the drive.

PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is required. While there are plenty of dry weekends during those months when a regular vehicle would be fine, you cannot know that in advance. Please take this warning seriously for those months. For the rest of the year, regular 2WD vehicles are fine.

Amazing Experience

We had the pleasure of staying with Red Roof last week when we book our trip to Shenandoah National Park. The location was amazing, view was great and there are detail instruction on everything - they send us emails before our visit to ensure we know how to get in (with the key lock). Inside, the place is cozy and lovely, and has everything you need in staying there! I would definitely book again next time.

Quiet and secluded

The drive to this house was a little treacherous. You're basically driving on a steep cliff so take the 4 wheel drive advise seriously! Once we got to the cabin, it was really nice and quiet. The house was neatly kept and everything seemed fairly new and updated. It's a little more remote than expected but drive and views are amazing. It's only 20 mins away from Luray. We hiked the Lower White Canyon Oak Trail and that was about an hour drive from the trailhead.

Fantastic getaway

The cabin exceeded expectations. Comfortable, private, and with beautiful walks just down the road. The cabin was clean and well provided, exactly as advertised and more. Favorite part was the fire pit (with complementary wood) and the well equipped kitchen.

Secluded Getaway

We really enjoyed our weekend at Red Roof.
On Friday I needed to get some work done so we went to Gathering Grounds in Luray to use the Wifi (since the cabin only has satellite wifi). Perfect if you need to do the same. We cooked dinner and played the provided board games.
On Saturday, we parked at the top of the neighborhood and walked down the road to hike the Fire Road (no car access or parking). It took us up to Skyline where we enjoyed the view at the Tanner's Ridge overlook. It was about 4.5 miles roundtrip, including the portion from the parking lot to the Fire Road entrance. Then we visited Wisteria winery. Lots of outdoor space for us and the pup to chill.
Sunday, we got a good bit of snow. It was gorgeous and our dog loved being able to play in it off leash. Plow didn't show up for the driveway so make sure you take the 4WD/tire chain warning seriously! We lost internet for a bit but just needed to brush the snow off the satellite.
We would go back!

Very enjoyable stay

We recently stayed for three nights at Red Roof. Great professional service from beginning to end. Beautiful cabin with plenty of amenities. Driving the last stretch to the cabin was a bit of a challenge with our Acura. I wish we had rented a SUV. All in all a very good experience!

A two-day hiking trip to the Shenandoah mountains with very remote and secluded lodging.

The Red Roof cabin is clean, comfortable and well stocked with kitchenware and entertainment / games. What we did not realize when booking is that it would take approximately 1 hour to drive from the Red Roof to many of the family-friendly trails in the national park. It takes about 15 minutes just to navigate the gravel roads (many are steep and several are a bit “rutted” out and could use fresh gravel) to leave the mountain community area where the Red Roof is built. I was grateful to be driving an SUV with all wheel drive. Food Lion in Stanely is about 20-25 minutes from the cabin and is the only nearby grocer. What appears on a map to connect the Red Roof area to Skyline Drive is in fact a fire road - not open to the public.

For an adult getaway in which seclusion and tranquility is the goal, Red Roof is perfect. For families looking to spend a lot of time in the national park, Red Roof is a nice place to stay but be prepared to do some driving.

Beautiful seclusion!

We visited Red Roof recently and were very comfortable there. The house is charming -- very cozy and well decorated, spotless and stocked with everything one would need. The property is certainly remote -- but that's what we wanted. Our dog loved the huge screened-in porch and running around protecting the place from squirrels! The team at Shenandoah Rentals was amazing -- including immediate response times to questions -- and a request for an early check-in/late check out. We will definitely return to decompress, relax and enjoy this beautiful property!

Great Secluded Cabin nestled in Shenandoah Mountains

The Red Roof Cabin is perfect for a couples getaway or friends gathering. The large screened porch invites a relaxing with morning coffee and watching the birds. The woods that surround the cabin offer the adventurous hiker plenty of options to explore. The single bathroom could be a problem for more than two guests. Porches off both bedrooms entice the slow to rise to linger longer enjoying the view. The kitchen is quipped with the basic tools to delight everyone. Parking is ample. The cabin is nestled at the end of the road offering more parking if needed. Management staff was very attentive to concerns I had during my stay and made sure resolutions were found. Fire Pit is well maintain and for an extra fee split wood is provided. This is a remote cabin and the extensive gravel winding roads can be intimidating to navigate. Recommend you print all material in the confirmation email management provides. You will get lost without them. There is no cell service so do not relay on technology. The cabin has Hughes Net which worked great. Do not count on streaming shows. Instead utilize the extensive movie collection provided, there truly is something for everyone. The three days I spent at Red Roof were therapeutic. This is the place to disconnect, relax, recharge and experience nature at its finest.

Nice , clean place

we Decided to book at Red Roof for the getaway weekend. The place is cleaned and nice and week , and well furnished. The cabin is far from town. It takes 30 minutes to get anywhere. The cabin is all the way top of the mountain. Nice place

A great place

Red Roof gives you isolation from everything but nature in a very well equipped house. We were impressed by the quiet green surrounding and the very convenient kitchen and bedrooms. We enjoyed it a lot.
Be ready to low level Wi-Fi. Mail and Whatapp chats - no problems. Whatapp videos calls - tough.
