I would like to clarify for future guests, there’s a farm lane to the lake for your use to go back and forth to the lake. Occasionally we move cows to a new pasture on the lane but you should never have to cross a cow pasture during your stay.

“Relaxing Getaway”
Wonderful vacation spot! Home was VERY clean. Nice appliances in the kitchen. Had a lot of extras most rentals do not (crockpot, roasting pan, platters etc.)You could easily cook and clean without having to go out. Beds were comfortable, lots of thick towels. We only walked to the lake a couple of times, but for a family vacation it would be ideal. You could entertain yourselves without ever leaving the property. Walk to the lake was not difficult, but if using often or bringing along a lot of stuff, I would rent the golf cart. The working farm was a bonus for us as we watched the cattle being fed. The home user guide was extensive and super helpful. Instructions for EVERYTHING. Host was quick to respond. I would definitely recommend.

“Wonderful experience and a great location”
We stayed for 4 nights and Maxine was wonderful. Any questions were responded to immediately. The house and location was so peaceful and we were close to the rest of our family at Pleasant Lake. It was a wonderful site to entertain our relatives and there were many. Thank you again Maxine for making this such a pleasant stay!

The morning star cottage is the perfect home set In the country with everything a family could need. We loved the comforts of home and the little touches of detail they put into it. The property is gorgeous and allowed for our kids to play outside and burn off energy. We can’t wait to stay here again when we return to the area

Host is kind and helpful, the property seems small but fits all you need! The outdoors are stunning as well with plenty of room to walk about. The hosts were responsive and helped fix any issue we had very quickly and the location was genuinely refreshing!

This property had beautiful views and a pretty views of the lake from the home. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the lake much, because we were busy with our son's wedding most of the time we were there. Beautiful views of the night sky also. The home was comfortable and was set up well for 2 families

Great place for a family especially with young children or just for two or more adults. The lake and pontoon boat ride was really fun for any age group. The farm and all the animals were a wonderful addition. I loved all of the land around us it was beautiful!

Maxine and Bruce were great.
Easy check in and out, clean cottage and yard.
During our trip we had severe weather that caused widespread power outages. Maxine delivered coffee and breakfast to our door. She also refunded a portion of our money due to the power outage.
We enjoyed our time here. The farm setting adds to the experience. Just remember there is a cow pasture between you and the lake.
I highly recommend the golf cart rental, its a little ways to the lake.
The lake is really nice and clean. Lots of aquatic lily's and stuff around the edge, but that is a sign of a healthy lake. We had a great time swimming off the platform.
The house is located up on a hill which gave us a nice breeze throughout our stay.
Of note if you mountain bike the DTE trail system at Waterloo park is fantastic and only 20 minutes away.
This was a great place to spend time with my family and i would do a return trip for sure.

Wow, the Morning Star Farm Cottage was an amazing stay! I was in town for a wedding and did not want to stay in Jackson because it was a 30 min drive away. This cottage was a perfect compromise and I was able to bring my 2 large breed dogs. It had plenty of rooms for me and a few other wedding guests as well as a fully stocked kitchen. I was able to prep for the rehearsal dinner with everything Maxine and Bruce provided. The beds were soft, sheets fresh, plenty of towels for all 4 of us ladies, and great water pressure. The two bathrooms came in handy as well as the washer and dryer. I am so impressed with this gem! I hope the next time I visit my uncle he can't accommodate us all so I can stay again!
I think I spent time in every chair on the porch as well as walking around the yard enjoying the cows in the distance at least 3 times a day. I'm sure my dogs would have loved to see the cows a little closer so they could be friends.
Definitely book the cottage for a week, you can't go wrong with this place!

Comfortable cottage and Maxine was very responsive. The surrounding farm provides interesting animal observations/entertainment. If the lake had been a little closer to the cottage it would’ve been perfect. Do rent the golf cart to get to and from the lake.

Maxine and Bruce are the perfect hosts - friendly and accommodating. The house is comfortable and well-stocked with everything a traveler needs - it's perfect for families. The setting is lovely - we never even turned on the TV, but spent all of our time outdoors watching the cattle and enjoying the pond!

The cabin is just what we needed for Spring break, family vacation, during a pandemic! Clean, very comfortable, beautiful place. Lots to do and see at this little piece of heaven.
