Long before we had a vacation rental, I viewed myself as a sort of unofficial Lake Tahoe Ambassador. While we no longer live full-time in Lake Tahoe, my wife grew up here, and our family lived here for ten years before life took us elsewhere. The home you are staying in was our family’s primary residence for five years. We’ve done a lot of life here!

My name is Clark, and I’ll write this guide in the first person, but I wanted to introduce you to my family! My wife is Monica, and it’s possible that you will interact with one or both of us while planning your trip. We have three kids -- Jackson, Emery, and Abby -- who are now 15, 13, and 10.

Our local contact is Carol. If there is anything wrong with the house when you check in or if any emergencies come up during your stay, please reach out to Carol. She’s our friend and we’ve known her for a long time.

If you have questions about outdoor adventures, I’m your guy! Shoot me a message. I’ve run, hiked, or biked to about every random lake in the area. I’m a runner, trailrunner, mountain biker, road biker, skier, paddleboarder, and adventurer. I’ve hiked to many of these lakes with while carrying beach chairs and schlepping kids and gear. I know these mountains! Give me a holler. I’d love to point you in the right direction! You can also check out my Guidebook for South Lake Tahoe that is available on Airbnb.

This is our home, but we’d love for you to feel like it’s your home too!

The only thing we love better than having a home in Tahoe is having a home in Meyers. We love this little community! You're a ten minute drive to the best beaches in South Shore and have easy access to Sierra-at-Tahoe, Kirkwood, and Heavenly for skiing and riding in the winter.

If you look down our street, you’ll see that our street dead-ends into forest. That’s Tahoe Paradise Park. If you walk from our house, down the street, and into the forest -- in exactly ¼ mile you will arrive at Lake Baron. Just beyond Lake Baron is the South Upper Truckee River. If you go along the South Upper Truckee River, you’ll arrive at the central part of Tahoe Paradise Park where there is a community center, playground, and tennis and pickleball courts. If you cross the river, you are in Washoe Meadows State Park. There’s a beautiful meadow with views of Mt. Tallac. There’s a wonderful network of trails between Tahoe Paradise Park and Washoe Meadows. The river is shallow and safe in many places to cross, but for the safest and driest crossing, follow the river all the way to the community golf course and there is a bridge the golf carts use. These trails are great for walks, running or biking in the summer or cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter.

During the summer months, there’s a great Farmer’s Market at Tahoe Paradise Park on Wednesday evenings with food, artisans, and live music.

WIthin the town of Meyers on Highway 50 there’s….

Holiday Market: This is a pretty good sized grocery store literally 2 minutes from our house.

WattaBike Shop: This is where I have all of my bikes serviced. Kent is the owner and he’s a great guy. During the winter service and rent ski and snowboard gear. Right next to Roadrunner.

Divided Sky: Bbar that’s been around for a while and is a local's favorite. They often have live music, and they have some very tasty food that’s more interesting that typical bar food. Easy walk from our house.

Getaway Cafe: Often wins “Best of Tahoe” for both breakfast and lunch. Easy walk from our house.

Roadrunner Gas Station (76): Beer Cave, Liquor, Snow Park Passes, Fishing Worms. Right next to WataBike.

TubeTahoe: During the winter months, right next to Holiday Market there’s a tubing hill called TubeTahoe that is owned by our friends. Check it out!

There are other places (Mexican Food, Pizza, another ski and bike shop….) but these are some of my favorite places. And everything in Meyers is a 2 minute drive, a 5 minute bike ride, or a ten minute walk away! It’s so awesome! I love it and hope you do too!

Visited with my closest friends and sisters for the weekend and the place was perfect. Hot tub was such a nice amenity especially on a crisp Tahoe night. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a nice meal and bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bedrooms had plush bedding and pillows and we all slept great. We all felt so welcomed and comfortable in the home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house is best set up for families; only one bathroom can be shared. The other bathroom is off the master bedroom. King & queen beds are very comfortable; twin beds are close together and best for kids. We four adults needed more than one cushy chair & couch in the living room; bench in the dining area wasn't comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. Home's location near Lake Baron was ideal for walking the dog, and the spacious hot tub was fabulous!

2 part review-part 1 is about the beds/mattresses and part 2 is everything else. PART 1: Mattress score=0. Three of the beds in the house are foam, not memory foam, but hard yellow, block foam, not mattress material. I was not comfortable on the “king” bed, moved to the twin beds to discover they are the same block foam. One bed was sinking, and they both had stains and no covers. We then decided to flip the king to see if it might be more comfortable. We found black mold on the underside. This mattress did have a zip on cover, that was covered in stains + the mold. Upon checking out, we stripped all the beds, and discovered the “queen” room mattress was covered in what looked like very large urine stains. PART 2: We enjoyed the location of the house, it was good with the dogs, it had a nice big yard, but areas of the fence were not perfect. There were lots of little things wrong in the home, but we loved the location. I will only stay with a superhost in the future.

Response:Sydeney, you stayed six nights without brining up any issues. Midway through your stay I checked in to make sure everything was okay. After you checked out, you said you never got a good night of sleep and had lots of complaints. I'm sorry you left feeling disappointed and wish you the best.

Stayed a week and everything was great! Clark was responsive whenever had a question or issue. The place was spacious and had plenty of things, like cooking supplies, to make it feel comfortable and homey. Location was private to spend quiet nights and peaceful mornings. Would definitely stay here again!

Clark’s home was just as listed and more. I visited with my family, there was 6 of us plus my toddler and the house was roomy and accommodating for everyone. The rooms were nice and cozy. Bathrooms were clean and had all the toiletries we could need. Kitchen and laundry room was surprisingly very well stocked with all the cooking utensils and supplies and things you could possibly need or think of. It was a very lovely stay and having a clean and functioning hot tub was a big plus. A 15-20 min drive to South Lake Tahoe, but there’s a cute park / small lake 5 min walk from the house called Tahoe Paradise Park / Lake Baron. Highly recommend Clark’s place for your family’s next visit!

This house was great. Before check in. I asked several questions and they were all answered quickly and thoroughly. The house had everything. My mom was amazed how they seemed to think of everything (baby high chair, spices, dog bed, dog bowls, etc) even though we didn't have any children or pets, she just thought it was great they had them there. We did have a great time reading the trivia cards by the dinner table I. the evening. I would definitely book this house again.

This home was perfect for our families vacation! It has a beautiful deck to hang out on. The spa was a great way to end our days and there was walking trails only a short distance away! The house also had a pack and play and high chair which was great for us! Clark’s communication was 10/10 and he was very friendly and quick to respond. Overall, this is a good get away home to experience Tahoe and Clark was a great host!
