lovely place to stay away from it all in lovely surroundings for a winter or summer break. Felt at home straight away with our 2 dogs - the kitchen had everything we needed and the pub across the road a great fallback when we didn't want to cook. very helpful and relaxed hosting as was everyone else we met in and around the village on our many lovely walks. Will go back again for a repeat trip when we can.

We had a wonderful stay in Alison's place, which was spacious, charming and peaceful. The neighbouring pub was very welcoming with a great selection of food and drink. Furthermore, Alison was very accommodating during a booking date change which was required. Thanks so much for letting us stay in you lovely home 🙂

Had a really relaxing time in Whitehills. Lovely wee cottage, comfortable and cosy. Anything we required was just a text to Alison away. She kept us up to date with local information regarding events etc. The Seafield Arms just across the road was perfect for a drink and a bite to eat. Food was amazing and staff so friendly. Whitehills is a delightful wee place.

We had such a lovely month at Peppermill Cottage! The hosts, Alison and Brian, did a really good job with the house. We remained not only comfortable, but actually cozy throughout our whole stay. Then there was the location, which also proved very convenient. The house is across the street from the pub, a great place to hang out with some friendly characters. And two blocks away there are a fish and chips place, as well as a well stocked little market. Last but not least, it is also worth mentioning that the area offered so many options of entertainment that even staying a whole month we didn't manage to see everything. Just check All Trails to see how many walks there are, or Google Maps for distilleries, castles... And all of that less than 1:30hrs away from Inverness or Aberdeen! All in all, it made for the perfect stay. We really enjoyed our stint in Whitehills and would wholeheartedly recommend Peppermill Cottage as a base for anyone considering a trip to the area!

We stayed two nights and loved every second. The cottage is perfectly located near sea, near shops and a pub just across the road. The cottage was warm and homely and just perfect. We did not know much about Whitehills and it was lovely surprise to find pottery next door. Beautiful crafts and well worth a visit. The Seafield arms is literally across road and staff were friendly and very welcoming. Alison recommended the Captains Galley and our lunch was amazing! Try the seafood linguine 👌 We walked from Whitehills to Banff. Lovely walk. Can’t wait to return and stay again. Thankyou Alison 😊

We visited Portsoy & had great ice cream, Boyndie for the baking, lovely cafe at old Banff castle site & great playparks at Whitehills, Banff Links & Duff House.

“The most perfect propery in the most perfect location. ”
My first stay at Peppermill Cottage most certainly won’t be my last. A beautiful well appointed property in the idyllic village of Whitehills. An oasis of calm in a busy world. The owner has thought of everything, and the cottage couldn’t ne more perfect - or comfortable. I loved it!💙

We are a couple who met and married in Cape Town and lived there a number of years before wending our way via glorious Devon, and a rather interesting spell in lockdown on a canal boat, to the peace and tranquillity of the Moray coast.
We have two Jack Russells we brought with us from South Africa who love the long walks and georgous beaches in this area.
We previously had guest cottages in Cape Town and Devon.
