Immerse yourself in nature in this designer mountain modern guesthouse. Eight minutes to the ski lifts or seven minutes to town, this guesthouse is located on the fence line of the Allen Ranch with unobstructed views of Mount Crested Butte. Experience true solitude as you soak in the beauty of this majestic location. Whether its skiing by day, hiking the summer Snodgrass trail, fishing at Meredian Lake or leaf peeping during fall, this is a truly special place to relax, recharge and unwind.
Mountain Modern is situated above the main garage and has a separate entrance with keypad entry and dedicated parking for our guests. The extra large bedroom is set up with two queen beds, complete with organic bedding. The oversized luxury bathroom has a walk-in glass enclosed shower outfitted with shampoo, condition and bodywash. There is a kitchenette with sink, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven and electric griddle provided for light cooking and reheating of food. And a stackable washer and dryer in the unit that includes laundry detergent and dryer sheets for your personal use. It has all the modern conveniences from home one could ever need. In summer, the main deck is open for guests to use with unobstructed views of Mt Crested Butte.

Getting around
Staying at the guesthouse does require that you have your own transportation. We do offer full use of an EV charger on site (Level 2). Winter months require a 4-wheel drive vehicle as the driveway is very steep. The roads are paved all the way to the guesthouse and are plowed by the city and county. However, a snowstorm can quickly drop a lot of snow very quickly, so one needs to be prepared. There is a free shuttle bus at the four way stop in town. Locals park at the four way and hop on the free shuttle bus, exiting feet from the ski lifts. This is the most convenient and direct way to get on the lifts. It's extremely convenient on the return as you can apres ski in town before heading back to the guesthouse.
To get the most out of your visit during summer months, we still recommend a high clearance vehicle. The guesthouse is minutes from the Paradise Divide loop and the roads are unpaved. The drive up Washington Gulch is stunning and not to be missed in summer months. The wildflowers stretch for miles and are truly breathtaking. You can take the loop drive and come back down past Emerald Lake on Gothic Road or return using Slate River Road. Both are beautiful drives but do require high clearance vehicles to make the most of exploring this beautiful valley.

There is a keypad on the door. Keycode will be sent five days before arrival. Just enter the code to unlock. When leaving, all you have to do is hit the lock icon (no code) and the door will lock.

House Rules
1. Please be respectful of any neighbors. Our neighborhood has many full time residents who call this beautiful place their home. It is very important that our guests fit in with the relaxed vibe of the neighborhood so that everyone's peace and enjoyment is uninterrupted. To ensure our little slice of heaven stays as such, the following rules are strictly enforced.
A. Quiet hours are from 9 PM to 8 AM.
B. No parties or event.
C. Drive slowly in the subdivision, watching for wildlife and children.
2. No unregistered guests. This rental sleeps a maximum of four guests. If the reservation states 4, there should only be 4 people in the guesthouse.
3. Please note, this guesthouse is part of a larger family home and as such, the owner lives on site.
4. There are several steps leading up to the private entrance.
5. Only 1 vehicle allowed per reservation. There is a guest parking area on the left hand side of the driveway. Driveway is very steep and vehicles need 4 wheel drive in the winter. There is a plow contract in place to plow the driveway, but it only comes if we get 6" or more of snow overnight.
6. No parking in the cul-de-sac at any time. HOA will ticket and costs will be passed on to guests.
7. No smoking/vaping/marijuana allowed inside or outside the house.
8. No shoes, snow boots, ski boots, ski's, sleds etc inside the guesthouse. Please leave any shoes in the entry way (outside the unit door) on the black boot mat provided. We have worked really hard to create this beautiful modern guesthouse in these remote mountains. Please help keep it nice for all future guests.
9. No exceptions to the Check-In or Check-Out times unless discussed with the Host in advance.
10. Turn off all lights when out of the unit. Close all windows as we experience monsoon rains during summer.
11. We experience extreme temperatures here in Crested Butte. There are two portable heaters to ensure our guests are comfortable. When out of the unit, please leave the heaters at no more than 68 degrees.
12. No pets
13. Do not use the premises for any illegal activity.
14. The use of drones is prohibited in the subdivision.
15. Our mountain modern home is located in a beautiful mountain setting where wildlife are literally on your front doorstep. As such, you will see deer, fox, fawn, coyotes, owls, moose and maybe even a bear. It's jaw dropping to experience on a daily basis but it also means, there are other critters too (like squirrels, mice and voles). Please keep the front door unit shut at all times as we don't want to invite any new "guests" into our home.
16. In winter months, do not walk under any roof lines where snow "sheds" ie falls down to the ground. For your own safety, please keep away from any snow laden roof tops.
17. Check-Out Rules
A. Empty all trash into one trash bag (bags are under bathroom sink)
B. Put all black towels, bath mat and wash cloths into the washer and start a washing load. Detergent is provided. Housekeeping will enter the unit after to pull them out and transfer to the dryer.
