Ultra cute cottage for two. This little cottage started life as a pottery shed behind the Farmhouse. It grew up some and became a rental cottage called Angel’s Rest. We’ve renovated it yet again, and now it is a fully stocked tiny house with everything you’ll need for a relaxing weekend getaway. Borders the Little River Canyon National Preserve and DeSoto State Park, so bring hiking boots and a swimsuit - Shigley Hole.

(FYI, October is Colorfest in Mentone. Book soon!)
This little cottage is right in the middle of the property, so you’ll feel the hustle and bustle of The Wilderness. At night you might hear crickets, frogs, cicadas and people sitting around a campfire.

We absolutely loved this getaway spot! It was just big enough for me and my husband, and I enjoyed the hike into the woods to look for the swimming hole. The surroundings are beautiful and the fresh clean air was so nice. The bathroom was 10 out of 10 and I loved the shower, we were excited that we even had TV access to watch the Alabama Auburn game with no problems. I would have liked to see more of the host, though, (the dog, that is!) the lab was waiting for us when we arrived late Friday night, and escorted us all the way to our cabin. She was very very friendly and welcoming.

If you are looking to get away to a quiet peaceful place this is the place for you. It’s a bit remote but we knew that going in. We brought our own food because we didn’t want to have to leave. There are places I believe within 15-20 minutes where you could buy things and many activities and restaurants are recommended in the guest book. We just chose to stay put. A lovely screened in porch overlooked a quiet meadow, Perfect in the evening as the sun was setting. The bed was super comfy and the larger looking than the pictures of the entire cottage was well appointed and lovingly decorated. All of the above was exceeded by the kindest of hosts. Can’t wait to find a reason to go back!

MountainMeadow was the perfect place to refresh and renew our souls. It is impeccably restored to a relaxing country two room cottage that is appointed with a full kitchen, direct tv, a spa like bath and soft comfortable bedding. The peaceful mountain mornings on the screen porch with nature were second only to generosity and kindness of Bobbie and Ray that are friends you feel you have known forever from the first email to meeting them and saying 'see you later'. We truly cannot wait to visit again and surely hated for the weekend to end.

This cabin is such a great little romantic getaway. Roomy but not too large. The shower is amazing. The beds were great. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. The porch is awesome. Sitting and looking over the meadow is very relaxing. The sun comes up away from the bedroom which makes sleeping in nice and cozy.
