Location is worth it

Look past the dated interior as kitchenette is well stocked and sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. Walked right out to slopes.

I contacted Chris and Alison on Sunday to ask if they could reschedule my dates (1/15-1/19) which corresponded with winter storm Heather which hit the southeast/mid-Atlantic with ice, snow and frigid temperatures beginning 1/15. The roads in Tennessee where I am from were only marginally passable by Wednesday, so getting to WV was all but impossible for my airbnb window. And I never made it. But, I did inquire about transferring my dates to another 4 day window, but Chris and Alison were not helpful. I would have negotiated down to a couple days at a future date, but Chris and Stacy were not accommodating or flexible and offered no suggestion of an alternative or a solution. Their attitude was basically 'that sucks for you.' But, hey, they include a sad faced emoji :( in their email so I guess that's a consolation. Let's face it, their condo is on the low end of desirable. I can't imagine that's entirely booked for the season. But like I say, Chris and Alison were not accommodating.

Response:I am really sorry Todd. We have a pretty lenient cancellation policy and only require two weeks for a full refund and offer a 50% refund with a week's notice. But once we get within a week of your check in date like your situation, there is not much that we can do. Since Snowshoe is a ski resort in the WV mountains, having to travel in adverse winter conditions should be expected. I'm so sorry.

Loved this place, got what we paid for. You can walk right out to the slopes and get right on a lift. Renters should bring water as the tap water isn’t great and the vending machines are very overpriced. My only complaint is the price of everything in the building and village. Make sure to pack everything you need and more because it’s hard and expensive to buy replacements. Overall was great value for the price and location.

We had a great trip, this location is very convenient and right in the middle of everything. The entrance right onto the slope is great. The building and rooms are a little dated and worn but, this is also the cheapest place I found. Have appropriate expectations or spend a lot more.

Mountain lodge

Rhis is a one bedroom condo. It is small but great location. Everything was very clean. Evrythiing you need to prepare quick meals or snacks. It is also located close to the ski lift and to the village which has numerous spots to eat.

Great place to stay by the slopes. Very clean and everything easy to get to. My only complaint is not many plates and cookware so you might want to bring plastic plates/ silverware.

Fine

This place is fine at best. So, so dated. I can't say I wouldn't stay here again because the prices at Snowshoe are insane overall but this place is definitely for the peasants. There are burn marks on the linoleum floor in a few places, the baseboards were filthy, we weren't left any towels. *But* the location is so great and, again, the cheapest spot in the village. Overall, it needs some TLC.

The condo looks like the photos. Great location for access to the slopes. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the condo but it seems like it gets a lot of use.
