Overview of unit 607 and the Mahana

This unit has everything you will need for 'beach days' such as snorkeling, chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, towels, etc. The Mahana property is a collection of condos, all of them face the ocean. It was built in the mid 1970s and has been very well maintained. This is not a 'full service' resort with restaurants, bars, poolside drink/food service. The vibe is quiet, laid-back, lots of good-book-reading in the lounge chairs going on. The clientele is mostly early middle-aged on up. Lots of retirees, most of them were owners or longtime returnees to the same units over many years. The 4-grill station by the pool was a great gathering spot in the late afternoon as people waiting for a grill to open up chatted about what they were doing and where they were from. The Mahana is at the north end of a long board walk that goes all the way to Black Rock and is a good morning walk/jog along the beach-fronts of all the other resorts/properties. If you need absolute quiet to sleep, then bring ear plugs. The beach break is directly below the property and even with all the windows closed and the curtains drawn there is a constant low-level 'roar'. We found this to be sleep-inducing similar to white noise but others may not. This time of year, the humpback whales and their babies were constantly putting on show in front of the lanai, very entertaining. The only down side to the unit was the confusing array of four remotes needed to control the TV with no detailed instructions. We have found that this is a common condition of vacation rentals that have WIFI, cable/satellite boxes, TVs, Stereo system all with their own remotes and then a universal one as well. We never could find NetFlix and other streaming services to watch some of our favorite programs; not a big deal for us as we didn't come to Maui to watch TV. If you need this, then get detailed instructions before hand. All-in-All, the property and the unit were as advertised and suited us very well, we will return.

Very nice property

This unit literally gives you the opportunity to watch the whales out your window. We saw them numerous times while sitting on the lanai. We played in the ocean right outside the unit and found plenty of sand and it was not crowded at all. Julie was easy to work with and the only minor issue we had with a parking permit was fixed within 2 minutes of calling. I would definitely stay at this property again next time I’m on Maui. Thanks again!

Best Condo on Maui Hands Down

This is our 10th trip to Maui and Mahana 607 condo has stunning views, very clean and comfortable. The condo has beach chairs and a cooler that we used a lot. The kitchen has quality items to cook with. This place is top notch and Julie and Greg are wonderful people to work with. We plan to return next year. They also have other condos in case you don't find availability here - it's called LuxVaca.

Honeymoon Stay

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this condo in Maui. The location is great. It is within walking distance to restaurants, food trucks, and beautiful beaches. The views from the condo are amazing. Sitting out on the porch to watch the sunset was a favorite time for us. Having the boardwalk to walk to restaurants and the beaches made the walk easy, especially during high tide when you couldn’t walk on some beaches. We enjoyed snorkeling and lying out on the clean beaches only a few steps from the condo. The check in process is simple and easy. The condominium complex is nice with the beach front pool and hot tub. We wish the beach equipment would have been a bit nicer. Compared to other rentals that we have experienced in HI, beach gear was lacking in quality. Beach chairs were rusted, and flimsy umbrellas were worthless with any small breeze. Also, it could have been a little cleaner. It wasn’t terrible, but we had to vacuum, wash bedsheets, and wipe down eating surfaces on our first day (with little cleaning product or detergent available). Appliances and furniture are outdated.

We visit Maui 2 to 4 times a year and check on our property to ensure everything is great shape. We replaced the beach gear with new Tommy Bahama chairs that are super comfy and light weight. The sofa is less than 6 months old and we have many repeat guests who welcome all the upgrades we make on a regular basis. Appliances are also fairly new (brand new washer dryer, microwave, stove). Very nice condo GREAT location

We loved being right on the beach and sleeping with the door open to the soothing sound of the waves lulling us to sleep. We could see whales blowing off in the distance. My only complaints are 1) that neither TV worked. There were multiple remotes at each tv but none of them worked the tv.s-or at least I could not figure it out. I suggest that the owner type up instructions and label each remote so one knows which remote goes with which device and the procedure to turn it on. I just wanted to watch the news before bed. 2) the only large saucepan was put away dirty. I had to scrub it before I could use it. 3) half of the lights above the bar did not work. 4). We called the number left on the entertainment center to get the gate code to the boardwalk but never got a call back. Overall it was a perfect base for our vacation!

Perfect location and view

Loved the view of the ocean and that we could fall asleep listening to the ocean waves below our place. There's a guidebook that let us know of secret places to go on Maui. That was very appreciated. Nice and clean and everything worked.

Fantastic condo!

We had a great time in Mahana 607, celebrating our 25th weding anniversary. The condo was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed; windows and mirrors everywhere so there was a lot of light. The views were incredible. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals every day (fresh local fish and produce), and morning coffee on the lanai was always a treat (even though we didn't see any marine life from where we were). I wuld highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in west Maui!

Beautiful apartment and view!

The view is incredible! I could sit in those chairs and look out on the ocean all day. Fantastic appliances and kitchen ware and everything you need to cook there if you want. My fiancé and I really enjoyed the apartment.

Beautiful unit with outstanding view and great amenities.

Everything worked except the ceiling fan lights in the bedroom. They would automatically turn on every hour and wake us up! We finally had to unscrew the light bulbs. Suggestions: welcome placard (plastic thing) could be larger. We didn’t see it until day 3. Thanks for the clothes washing detergent. Maybe could use a few more dish washer packets - can’t buy just a few in the store. Directions for the blue tooth. Could also use fresher bed pillows. Overall though a terrific stay. We hope we can stay here again in the future. Thank you!!!!
