Amazing Location, Great For Groups!

We had a large group/family meet up and Eagle Lodge was just what we were looking for! The property provided us plenty of space and is in a prime location. We rode ATV's from the property and there was plenty of space for our trucks and trailers and great trails nearby. The kitchen was big enough for all of us to cook and enjoy meals together, which we really enjoyed. The pool was a huge bonus, we all loved taking an afternoon swim and having that space to relax and hang out together. We hope to visit Nemo again in the future, we highly recommend!

Amazing!

This house was wonderful! It is completely stocked with kitchen utensils, towels etc.. I also loved that the listing stated it slept 24 and it did! (No couches etc.) The view was breathtaking! The home owners were also wonderful! I can’t say enough great things! We’ll be back!!!

Luxury accommodations in a spectacular Black Hills location

We have always wanted to try the Black Hills for a summer vacation and always heard great things, and this year a driving trip made a lot of sense given COVID-19, so we went for it. In our prior research, the challenge we had with the Black Hills area is that there were not many higher end properties, and when we camp, we prefer our camping to be remote and not at campgrounds. Fortunately, the lodge gave us a combination of an idyllic mountain setting in Nemo, a huge and beautiful home, and a great swimming pool complex which we used daily. Bruce and Traci could not have been nicer to us, and they are meticulous in keeping everything in great shape. The setting for the home is amazing. Off the back deck, your view is of the 600 foot canyon wall across the valley, the horses in the pasture and the trout stream. I like to exercise in the early AM, and you can hike up Mt. Nemo and back from the lodge in less than 2 hours, or take great runs back on a dirt road along the stream. We found Nemo to be a convenient location to see everything in the Black Hills (even with a bridge out forcing us to take a detour every day), including beautiful Spearfish Canyon and the fly fishing we did about half way to Rapid City. If you only wanted to do things in Custer Park (which would be a big mistake in my opinion), there are more convenient places. But we found the location to be great. For whatever it is worth, our favorite Black Hills sites were trout fishing up stream in Rapids Creek (above Rapid City but below the lake), the Bear Park near Rapid City (go during feeding time - kids loved it!), Needles Highway, the walk around Sylvan Lake, and Spearfish Canton. The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs and Devils Tower we’re also worth the trip. We found the southern part of Custer Park to be uninteresting, even though you do see buffalo. We liked the longer waterfall hike in Spearfish Canyon (but you do see cars for much of the hike on the road across the stream), Lover’s Leap in Custer (but there is tons of poison ivy down in the stream portion - almost unavoidable - wash off with soap right after if you wear shorts), and around Sylvan Lake. The hike up Mt. Nemo was great. If we had another day, we would have rented ATVs in Nemo - looked like a lot of fun. The Black Hills are beautiful and have a ton to offer. If you think that the only beautiful mountain vacations are in the Rockies and West, the Black Hills will change your mind.

This place was absolute bliss. Traci and Bruce are exceptional hosts who very clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making their guests' stay comfortable, easy, and most of all, enjoyable. The location itself was incredible with great views of rocky cliff faces, peaceful valleys, and the beautiful Black Hills. The property was absolutely unbelievable with all of the different lodging buildings, the pool house, and the barn with the horses. The pictures of the property are gorgeous but don't do it justice. We were completely in awe of how much thought went into the main house in order to make guests comfortable. From having three separate living spaces (each with their own two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and living room), to the beautiful mid-century furniture that was used throughout, and the ample amount of appliances/cookware/utensils, etc. that were provided. We had the most wonderful time as a family of 24 and it never felt crowded. Traci and Bruce were so incredibly accommodating of our large group and so quick with responses that it made everything that much easier for a group as large as ours. We hope to be back to enjoy the property for longer. We couldn't say enough great things about how much we enjoyed our stay!

No parties, events, or outside guests.
The pool, rec-room, and our other amenities are for our use, our invited guest use, and registered guests only.
Do not wear shoes inside the house.
No feet on furniture inside or outside.
No smoking inside or out on the deck.
Use coasters or napkins on furniture.
Please place towels under booster chairs to protect upholstery from staining.
Empty your inside trash to the trash cans provided outside.
Please do not move inside or outside furniture. Moving furniture can scratch the floors and deck.
Do not move outdoor cushions off their furniture.
No fires or barbecues on the property except in our grills or propane fire-pit. Do not move the grills, especially never on to the decks. If you have plans for something else, please check with us first.
If you stain any fabric, please try to remove the stain with Shout. It is provided in the laundry room. If you can't remove the stain that way, just let us know so that we can try to remove it. Do not put item through the washer and dryer .. that sets the stain.
Music is for your enjoyment and not to be heard by everyone in the valley.
The Pool and Rec Center are shared space, so please keep it orderly. Follow pool rules posted at the pool.
