Hurricane Helene Update:
Laurelwood Lodge was not damaged by the storm. We are open and accepting reservations. We have restored power, internet, and water in our community, and roads have been cleared and regraded to bring them back to normal conditions. Local stores are open and ready for business.
Gas is readily available and all surrounding towns are accessible including Saluda, Tryon, Hendersonville, Columbus, Rutherfordton, Forest City and Asheville (Biltmore is open and decorated for the Christmas season. Airports are open and accessible in Asheville, Greenville, and Charlotte. As of today, Chimney Rock is not accessible but work is going on to make sure that Chimney Rock Park is safe so we anticipate their re-opening sometime in the very near future.
The recovery efforts have been overwhelmingly fast and it’s amazing how fast roads have been repaired in most places. People in Western NC are friendly and compassionate, they are also very resilient and quick to recover from an event such as Hurricane Helene. When you come here for your vacation they will welcome you with open arms. Tourism drives the economy in Western NC and especially Lake Lure so everyone appreciates your visit and your support.

Week at Laurelwood

Nice large home. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views

30 day stay
Thank you for being our guests! We enjoyed having you and your family at Laurelwood. Having a family here for 30 days gives us a different perspective on what may be needed for longer stays. We'd love to have you back again for another visit! We are glad that you got to enjoy the amenities and the game room. It's a popular place to be at night, especially with the younger family members. The roads are gravel but they are well maintained and easily traveled with a conventional vehicle. Most of the mountain communities in our area do have gravel roads and many require 4 wheel drive to navigate during the Winter. Fortunately our roads do not require that. It is indeed a quiet community and even though it seems remote, you were are actually only 8-10 minutes away from the Ingles Supermarket fore supplies. We do have 140 channel Direct TV with a couple of sport packages add-ons but we realize that different guests may have different taste in TV programming. Now that we have fast WIFI we are planning to upgrade the TV's and add ROKU to give guests more viewing choices. We always try to be open to what our guests needs are and truly value your input. Thanks again for staying!
