Welcome to our family Pocono home. We've been coming up to The Hideout for 5 years with our parents, siblings, and our children, and we want you to enjoy all that The Hideout and our house have to offer!

In the spring and autumn months you'll spend your waking hours out on the deck- regardless of how big your group is, there will be a seat for them. At night, enjoy some drinks around the propane fire pit.

With 2 big living rooms, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, you'll all have your own space!
If the weather is nice, we enjoy every meal out on the deck, and after meals, we tend to linger out there while the kids play in the common room in the basement. There are enough nooks for everyone to find a place to read or watch their movie, or you can have everyone in the big main room around the fire.

Definitely recommend booking this spacious and comfortable home in a quiet community. There are trees all around and a lake just down the street with beaches, a playground, and picnic tables. Donovan was very responsive and ready to answer our questions, though we didn’t have many as the house has all the amenities we could have wanted. It was a great getaway from the city!

We loved having a working vacation week at this chalet. The large windows face lots of trees and the fireplace makes a really cozy setting for a home base. Wifi was impeccable for work and the place was very clean. There are plenty of nooks in the house to find a quiet space away from the rest of the family and lots of games and entertainment. We asked about baby amenities, and Donovan conveniently had a pack and play, high chair, and stroller available in the house that we could use! The quiet, wooded neighborhood made for nice walks, a short walk to the lake (too cold for swimming this time of year, but beautiful) and very short walk to the ski hill (too early in the season for this amenity). We also loved the deck which had a heater and a gas firepit and made for warm evening conversation. Kitchen was stocked with all the equipment and spices I needed to cook and Donovan left useful recommendations for a couple of places to grab food from, we enjoyed the local brewery especially. Donovan was very communicative and checking in with the community security was much easier and faster than anticipated.

It was our first time renting for a big company and with children. Everything was above our expectations. The house is very clean and specious. Tori and Donovan were very helpful and when we had questions they responded immediately. They had a lot of toys for kids and table games for adults. The deck, where we spent alot of time, had almost everything you could think of. Grill, firepit and a heater and enough of sitting places for all of us. With a house like this the only things you need are good company and good food. Thank you Tori and Donovan.

Donovan and Toris place is a wonderful place to vacation. It’s well organized and clean. Both of them responded quickly when I needed some questions answered and made us feel very comfortable. The guide that was left for us explained the area thoroughly and how to use utilize the house best (Fire Pit, space heater, grill etc). They are wonderful people and we had an amazing time. We highly recommend choosing them as a vacation spot!!

Getting around

You can walk behind the backyard and go on a hike through a wooded area around the ski hill. Parking is easy in the gravel lot, which fits up to 6 cars. The Hideout is strict about speed limit to keep things safe for walkers and bikers on the road, so stick to 25 MPH at all times.

Be respectful of the neighbors, we like to hang out on the deck late into the night, but just be mindful No groups with adults under the age of 25 (kids and families are okay!) Refundable Damage Deposit

Security Deposit refunded upon verification that everything is in working order upon your departure. Will be returned within 3 days of your departure as long as everything is verified by our property manager.

If you prefer to get short term rental insurance, you can show us that you have a policy, and we'll waive the deposit! https://generalitravelinsurance.com/ has been great in the past.

Cancellation Policy

We collect a 10% deposit upon booking. If an emergency comes up, and you need to cancel more than 21 days before check-in, we will refund you the full amount minus and credit card fees that were incurred.

Notes

Our community requires us to register and pay for rentals 48 hours in advance of check-in. If you send us the guest info in advance, we pay 2/3 of it on your behalf. A last-minute booking (2 days before check-in) will incur an extra $50 charge, because we need to pay $100 for rush processing!
