Horse Haven Carova - Carova Beach

~ 1) LINENS/TOWELS NOT PROVIDED:
Bed linens and bath towels are NOT provided – you must bring you own.
~ 2) BEACH PARKING PASS:
Currently Currituck County requires beach parking/access permits and two beach parking passes are included with rental and must be left at the house for the next guest’s use. A $200 fee for replace will be charged to guest for lost/kept beach parking pass.
~ 3) PROPERTY CONDITION:
Leave the home as you found it and it should be relatively ready for the next guests. Guests are responsible for repair costs should the premises or furnishings be left in a lesser condition.
~ 4) DO NOT REARRANGE THE HOUSE:
We request you refrain from rearranging the furniture or reorganizing the kitchen. You’re on vacation, please spend it relaxing rather than determining a “better” location for items. This includes beds, chairs, tables, and everything outdoors. Additionally, inside furniture/decor must remain indoors.
~ 5) ACCIDENTS/DAMAGES:
Please report all accidents, damages, and any non-working appliances immediately so that they can be corrected before the next guests arrive.
~ 6) NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOISE LEVELS:
Wild Horses – You will see horses on the property and around the neighborhood. Do NOT approach or feed horses and remain 50 feet from them AT ALL TIMES – they are wild and adapted to their marsh/coastal environment, apples/carrots/etc can and have killed them, do NOT feed/approach.
Please minimize noise between 10pm and 8am to ensure everyone enjoys their vacation. If any neighbors report excessive noise, your vacation rental agreement could be terminated and you will be asked to leave property. Should this happen, it will result in a loss of the rental amount.
~ 7) EXTRA GUESTS AND VISITORS:
A maximum of four visitors are allowed during the day. Any extra overnight visitors must be approved in advance. It is responsibility of the renter to ensure that any visitor also complies with our House Rules.
~ 8) NO EVENTS:
No events are allowed without prior approval from owners.
~ 9) PARKING:
Do not park on the raised roped off area – this area is the septic field and vehicles will damage it.
~ 10) SAFETY:
If emergency, call 911 and provide property address; 419 Wild Horse Ln, Carova/Corolla, NC.
The Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue is located at; 2169 Ocean Pearl Rd, Carova/Corolla, NC, and their non-emergency telephone number is; 252-453-8690.
A First Aid kit is located in the laundry room cabinet. There are smoke/CO detectors on both levels and all bedrooms, and there are fire extinguishers on both levels as well as under house.
Guests are responsible, at all times, for the safety of themselves, their children and their visitors while on the premises. Do not allow guests/children/visitors to climb on the railings, or stand on furniture near the railings. The use of property and any amenity (including; pool, hot tub, kayak, etc) is at guest’s sole discretion/risk/responsibility.
Pool and Hot Tub: Wash off sand and lotion prior to using the pool and/or hot tub, an outside shower is provided. NO GLASS in/around pool and/or hot tub. Close hot tub cover when not in use.
Grill: If you use grill, keep it away from house/deck and clean after each use.
~ 11) NO SMOKING:
Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere inside the house.
~ 12) APPLIANCES/HOME SYSTEMS:
Do not leave doors and windows open while the air conditioner is on. There is a humidity gauge on the thermostat, and it will shut down air conditioner if humidity stays high for an extended period of time.
Do not overload washer/dryer and shake sand outside BEFORE washing items.
~ 13) GARBAGE/TRASH DISPOSAL:
Trash collection is collected week-end and mid-week. Please put BAGGED trash in trash cans under front porch – and keep trash can lids closed to protect horses. Additionally, Carova homes are on septic systems – there is no garbage disposal, food/kitchen waste must go in trash – and do NOT flush any sanitary products, paper towels, or wipes down the toilet as these items will damage septic system, and must also go in trash.
~ 14) WATER:
Carova homes are on private wells and Carova well water has iron/sulfur (like most well water) which are reliably filtered with home’s multi-stage filtering – and also tannin which is more difficult to reliably filter and water may have a slight tint due to tannin. The kitchen has an additional drinking water faucet (to the right of the regular faucet) with additional reverse osmosis (RO) filtration to reliably remove tannin. (Tannin… Tea is an example of tannin - while tannin is not harmful, it can cause aesthetic issues such as a murky yellow/red/brown color, musty odor, and/or bitter taste.)
~ 15) LIABILITY:
The guest’s personal property is NOT covered in the insurance policy purchased by the owner against loss, theft, or negligence.
