Welcome to the Cobblers Corner a homage to the original owner who ran a successful shoe shop right here. This one-of-a-kind spot is located in a beautiful historic home built in 1887.
Rather you like the excitement and convenience of city living or a quiet evening to yourself this apartment is perfect for both. Located on a quaint street steps away from the acclaimed Front Street and scenic riverfront.
28+ Day Discounts on AirBnB. Separate/Additional Agreement May Be Required.
Historic 1887 Mercer-Evans Tusch home with plaque, registered through the Wilmington Historical Society and on the right-hand side of the wraparound porch is the apartment where you can be our guest.
- WOW; 100+ year old hardwood floors that have been painstakingly refurbished are the foundation for this unbelievably designed small space.
- Newer (2023) living room and dining area with a subtle mid-century vibe and a pop of color from the new decor.
- The fully stocked kitchen with glassware, plates/bowls, pots & pans, cookie sheets, toaster, Keurig, and more.
- New (2023) paintings, throw pillows, blankets, vases, and decor makes the place pop!
- Green tea memory foam mattress with soft and comfortable sheets will allow you to sleep as well as ever.
- Restored 1960s real cedar dresser.
- Reading nook with large window overlooking the backyard.
- Super soft towels, washcloths, and hand towels are provided!
- This is a semi-compact space at approximately 520 sq. ft., however, its packed with the amenities you need. Perfect WFH spot too!
- 2 blocks from the river.
- 2 blocks from Market street,
- Minutes to the hospital.
- Minutes to shopping, dining, beautiful sunsets, carriage rides, and more.
- This downtown Wilmington, NC historic apartment is a perfect place to stay when youre in town.
- On Street Permit Parking for residents and guests. Usually in front of the home, very rarely do you have to walk a couple of homes down.
- Its surprisingly quiet for being so close to town, but occasionally you will hear an ambulance or fire truck, a loud car, or a garbage truck, but nothing unusual.
Note: This is a 136 year old home, its beautiful, has character, but there are creaky and wavy floor boards, walls and doors arent perfectly straight. Also, due to being a historic home and having old windows, some are only operable for emergencies, please do not open windows due to possible breakage. For fresh air, please open the door.
Lastly, we’re human, not machines or a conglomerate. We just love Wilmington and want to share it. We enjoy hosting a part of our home and helping people experience Wilmington. We do our best to provide a nice, clean, and comfortable spot for guests. If you need something or have a question or have a concern, just communicate with us! We’ll be happy to provide recommendations or make something right.

Notes
We live in the main house and will be available to meet you, provide suggestions, and help if an issue does arise!
Airplanes/ helicopters pass over the downtown area during the day. It can be noisy, but is not typically loud. The entire downtown area experiences this, we just want our guests to know ahead of time.
We live in the main home so you may rarely here us or the doggos, but pretty rarely. Typically the dogs may bark if/when they notice you on the porch or near our front/ main door. But will settle down after a minute or two.
Note: This home is 136 years old, and although many aspects have been updated and refurbished... it is 136 years old (wavy floors or crooked doors). Personally, we love the character, whereas someone else may not. Just keep this in mind. We love it! Also, if an issue arises or you have questions, we live here and are here to help.
