This two-story, fully equipped dog-friendly home nestled in the green hills of Southern Vermont offers expansive mountain and valley views, beautiful in every season. Located between Bennington and Manchester, Hillside Getaway is a short drive to shopping, dining, hiking, skiing and fishing on the Battenkill.

Meals are a breeze in the updated, well-stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Barbeque with the gas grill on the wrap around deck. You’ll be comfortable with two living spaces, one that opens to the kitchen and dining areas has a cozy wood stove, the other with large screen smart TV – both with spectacular views out every window. The home has Starlink satellite service for high-speed internet, cell phone calls and streaming. There is also central A/C and a whole house generator should there ever be a power outage.

The first floor master bedroom has a king-size bed with ensuite bathroom. Upstairs there is a full bathroom and two additional bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other with two twin beds.

Roast marshmallows at the firepit or relax on the screen porch, you and your canine family members will enjoy the 10 acres of nature, fresh air and sounds of the Green River rushing nearby. This home offers the best of Vermont living.

This mountain retreat was one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Coffee on the porch and deck looking out to the mountains was relaxing and so peaceful. Our group has been to some European countries, most of New England and much of the western coast. This was definitely one of our favorites, we voted it top 3. We always have a recommendation to other hosts-not this time. We say we’ll never repeat a location, there’s so many places to go but we will return here. Sierra was an incredible host. We received answers almost immediately to any question. You should really pick this Airbnb if you’re in the area.

Place was wonderful and very organized and well-equipped. We appreciated the thoughtful note from the owners and found the home to be a perfect spot for relatives both local and from abroad to meet and eat together after a memorial. Would love to come back under happier circumstances.

We had a fantastic day at Hillside Cottage. We actually set up chairs in front of the windows just to be able to sit in gaze out at the incredible view. Furniture was new and super comfortable. The beds were perfect firmness and we slept great. We loved how private and completely quiet the location was. The stars at night were crystal clear. No light pollution - amazing! We cooked all our meals and the kitchen worked very well. Good selection of pots and pans and lots of counter space to spread out. We felt so warmly welcomed. On arrival a kind, handwritten note from the owners and gifts for us and our dogs were waiting for us. The dog water dish was even filled with fresh water and there were nice coverings for the couches in so our dogs could sit with us on the furniture. Great nearby hiking. Communication with Sierra was perfect. We could not have asked for a more perfect place for a quiet week away. We plan to return!

The reason our family goes to Vermont is to be immersed in nature. Sierra’s home in Sandgate does just that. Set into the side of a mountain, the view in any season is amazing. The house was well equipped with anything you may need. The little signs around the house are a nice touch and very informative. Especially for the wood stove. Sierra answered any questions we had very quickly. The house is beautifully decorated as well. Fifteen to twenty minutes in any direction will get you to Bennington, Arlington, or Manchester for shopping or restaurants. Five minutes down the road is the Wayside Country Store. It’s a great old fashioned country store with everything you may need. This is a dog friendly home with many thoughtful amenities. Great hiking up the mountain behind the house as well. You will need AWD/4WD to get up to the house in mud/snow but that’s part of the fun. Peaceful, quiet and tranquil. Can’t say enough about this stay. Wonderful ! Mitch & Jess

The cabin was a great escape from the city. It was picturesque and calming. The family and I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, the board games, and the shower was amazing! The cabin is large but is very cozy. The views of the mountains are magical and are a gentle reminder that the universe is large, and we should pay attention. It’s a thing of beauty! I will be booking again earlier in the fall to see more of the foliage.

We enjoyed our stay here so much! The home is beautiful with breathtaking views. It’s so peaceful, and quiet! The location is tucked up on the hill but you are within a reasonable drive to great restaurants, and shopping if you want to head out. The house has every amenity you could ever need, is extremely clean and decorated beautifully. This is a great spot for a couple, family, or group of friends. I would definitely recommend this home, and I can’t wait to plan my next stay!

This was our second time staying at this place and there may very well be a third time! We absolutely love this place. Vermont has become a special spot for us to relax and hike and explore, and this secluded and cozy house makes us and our dog feel right at home. Hi All . This place was really amazing. Not because just a house with grill . All around no one make this place quite and enjoyable. Interior design also amazing. Besides the house : 1)10 min drive to the river were we fishing. 2)1 min huge forest behind the house were we collected the mushrooms (myself only eating).-still alive . 3)1 hour to Lake George (all routes we used through nice villages and farms. 4)About 20 min to Brewery farm (local made beer farm) 5)Waterfall 26 min drive . After all this busy days we back to this beautiful house and chilling outside with fire pit. Definitely want to coming back here !!!!

If you are looking for the perfect Vermont getaway with sweeping mountain views, look no further than Hillside Getaway VT! The property is private and quiet but also close to Manchester and Dorset, so there is lots to do nearby. The inside of the home is thoughtfully decorated, bright and modern with a cozy feel, and is extremely clean. We loved everything about our stay and felt right at home upon arrival (and so did our pups!). We were greeted with local chocolates for us and homemade treats for our pups. The views of the mountains here are incredible! We loved watching the sunrise over the mountains with a cup of coffee. After a day of hiking nearby trails, the screen porch was the perfect place to relax and take in the cool crisp Vermont air. The outdoor fire pit was great for making s’mores in the evening, while watching the sunset. The space is dog friendly which meant our pups could enjoy a vacation with us! We had the best time and can't wait for our next stay!
