This warm and cozy log-and-stone style cabin is located high in the Blue Ridge mountains at around 3,000 feet elevation. It is in the same area as the Shenandoah National Forest and this property borders the park land. Come and "get away from it all" in the mountains while not giving up any of your modern comforts! You may not see another human being for a half mile in any direction, but you'll see plenty of deer, bear, and wildlife! Inside the cabin, you'll find spacious living areas, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and large HD televisions.

When you look up "remote getaway" in the dictionary, there's a picture of High Ridge! Come to rest, relax, have fun, and take pleasure in nature's finest wonders. Leave business, nagging emails, and your hectic work schedule behind for something quiet, peaceful, and relaxing!

This cabin is located "up Tanner's Ridge" as the locals say. In the pictures, you'll see two pictures showing the beautiful overlooks and mountains that you see as you drive to and from the cabin. You'll want to stop and get your own pictures on the drive.

Wonderful
This cabin was amazing! I would totally rent this again! The access road is mountainous as expected so 4WD is a must even if just to give you peace of mind. We pulled up and the cabin exterior is charming! Back “yard” area is great, big fire pit, grill, hot tub, wood etc. The hot tub was so relaxing and useful after long hikes in the park!
Kitchen had everything we needed, measuring cup, glass baking dishes and sheet pans. Has all the other basics as well as having laundry which was also really useful. I enjoyed the feel and design of the cabin. The bed was really comfy! Everything was very clean and well maintained.

Cozy and quiet retreat
We enjoyed our mid-holiday break at this cozy and comfortable retreat! Appreciated the little details like the holiday decorations, hiking maps, and well-stocked kitchen. The gas fireplace was awesome! Don't be turned away by some of the reviews about the roads to the cabin - it's a fun and winding, but well-maintained gravel road. The cabin is remote and amazingly peaceful.

Veterans Getaway
Very clean private and quiet home. Has a lengthy dirt road but it is well maintained. Excellent communications with the property manger. Instructions were on the refrigerator with all items and constant updates from the property manager on how to get there, open up and close up the cabin, this was much appreciated. Luray is nearby with several attractions and history. Skyline drive is just a few miles away. Wonderful scenic area.

Great place; responsive team
We booked a stay over NYE for our family of 4 as a change of pace and scenery before virtual elementary school and hectic jobs kicked off again in quarantine. The cabin is quite charming, situated beautifully on the mountainside. It was SO quiet there! We all enjoyed wondering around the mountain roads (never saw a person, but plenty of wildlife) and soaking in the hot tub. There were a few hiccups during our stay, but the property managers, housekeeper (Laura is great!), and owners were so helpful, accommodating and responsive. We hope to return to the cabin again someday!!

Amazing mountain getaway weekend!
This cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. Myself and my boyfriend and another couple spent our Labor Day weekend here and had the most relaxing weekend. We went to a nearby vineyard (Wisteria, amazing!) and hiking through Shenandoah to hike off the wine! We had wonderful weather and loved being so secluded, as we are all from DC. The hot tub and the fire pit were awesome house amenities to have and we used them fully! The kitchen was also fully stoked with all utensils we needed to cook our own meals and snacks all weekend. As far as COVID precautions, the house was clean and there was hand sanitizer throughout the place, and being so secluded made it easy to "socially distance"! We hope to return to this property for many more weekend getaways!

Perfection
We really enjoyed our stay here. A perfect get away from the chaos going on in the world (and DC) right now. We really wanted something that was super private and remote feeling without being in the middle of nowhere and this is a 10/10 on that front. We hiked old rag one day and canoed the Shenandoah another and spent afternoons and evenings at the cabin. What a wonderful place to relax. We rent cabins down this way several times a year and our usual rule is never stay in the same places twice. I think we will have to break the rule for this one. Why? Perfection! Owners really thought I’d every detail and the expanded yard, fire pit and hot tub really made for a wonderful stay

Perfect getaway from the city with our pup!
The location was great - we would definitely go back! We took full advantage of the amazing view, deck with outdoor seating and grill, hot tub, and fire pit. Our dog loved the trip too! The only note would be about bugs; this is to be expected in a mountain cabin, but it was an ongoing issue inside the cabin despite efforts we made to keep doors closed, etc. The drive up is steep but certainly manageable and well worth it!

Weekend Escape
There's no cell service at the cabin, but the wifi is really good. The hot tub is closer to the cabin than it looked in the pictures and has a nicely paved stone walkway to reach it, though we didn't have a chance to try it. We enjoyed the fireplace, games and puzzle a lot. There's a really nice porch looking out over the valley. We did see a few people mention stink bugs in their reviews and yes, there were a couple that we got rid of, but we've been doing weekends in the Shenandoah for years and they're everywhere.

Wisteria is really close and has a lot of different spaces to sit and sip wine. Luray has a lot more than we realized- we had a really good dinner at Moonshadows, drinks at the Valley Cork, and coffee at Gathering Grounds. All very good.

We definitely want to return in the spring or fall when we could sit outside on the porch and enjoy the view. I wouldn't suggest it for a motorcycle, though. It's on a mountain and the dirt road is windy and steep.

Awesome, secluded cabin!
Had an amazing stay at High Ridge! It’s secluded enough to enjoy some peace and quiet but close enough to Luray to enjoy all that it has to offer like wineries, breweries, the caverns, and access to hiking trails! Amenities were great, the cabin was clean and everything we could have hoped for a weekend getaway!
