Perhaps you are old enough to remember the good old western movies with the ruggedly beautiful, gently rolling Texas type scenery in the background of the cattle drive or the weary rider heading off into the sunset. Escondido Ranch, located in south central Texas is exactly like that Hollywood version of the Old West, complete with mesquite brush, hills and wooded areas, and the low canyons perfect for those early morning sunrise or late evening sunset.
The Guest Lodge is located in the valley, with a spacious back porch overlooking the Johnson Fork of the Llano River. Each of the bedrooms in the Guest Lodge have a spectacular view of the river and the wildlife that frequents this beautiful sight. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated in a Western style with each bedroom having its own bathroom.

Our Guest Lodge is equipped with a full kitchen, a living room area with wide screen TV and a pool table.

For mid-day relaxation, you can lounge on the outside patio or swim in the river.

In addition to the first class accommodations there is also the option to catch and release fish on over 2 miles of a spring fed river that runs through the property. This riverbed also provides excellent viewing of wild hogs, Rio Grande Turkey, Whitetails, and various other exotics. Being at this Texas ranch is both breathtaking as well as relaxing and rejuvenating. It is almost impossible to imagine you are just a few miles of the beaten path as it is quiet, serene and beautiful.

This is a great location for families or several couples that just want to getaway.

We have another listing on the same ranch if your party needs extra room.

Please note that both listings have access to the approximately a mile of river. While you will have access to the river right off the back porch guests will have to drive about 5 minutes down the road to what we consider the best swim spots.

Notes
NO PETS! If you come during the warmer months there is swimming available as there is the Johnson Fork of the Llano river that runs right behind the Lodge. We recommend bringing water shoes. There is great hiking in this beautiful destination! NO UNANNOUNCED GUESTS!! We understand that there might be family/friends in the area and they might want to come visit, paying guests need to get approval AHEAD of time if they anticipate having “day visitors”. Both listings have access to the river
